I love this place! Mawa is always so friendly, kind and accommodating. Her prices are very reasonable and her braiders are consistent and quick! I got kinky twists and they came out so beautiful and neat! I was in and out without breaking the bank. The only draw back is that the neighborhood is not the best and the building is very small. They do their best with the space by keeping it secure and closely monitoring who comes in and out which is nice but could also be a concern if you need to leave quickly. Thankfully I’ve never had any issues and the great service is enough to keep me coming back for all my hair braiding needs! Kid-friendly services but no waiting area so leave anyone not being serviced at home!

I did have to wait for a lil while cuz I came in at 4:30pm and I got a half head of kinky twist, I like them. I loved how the ladies worked together to make sure everybody was ok. They had good customer service! I wouldn’t go back because its to small in there but I would recommend people to her.

Critical: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueVery unprofessional and they lie on top of it ppl spend a lot of their hard earned money on braids and they just take it because they don’t care if you like it after. I went here this year worst experience ever they lied said they would fix my hair or take it down and didn’t. Kept giving me the run around when I was will to pay them again. To take it down but couldn’t get them to set an appointment. Very unprofessional and they lie on top of it ppl spend a lot of their hard earned money on braids and they just take it because they don’t care if you like it after. I went here this year worst experience ever they lied said they would fix my hair or take it down and didn’t. Kept giving me the run around when I was will to pay them again. To take it down but couldn’t get them to set an appointment. After 2 weeks of their lies I gave up don’t go here!!!

They braid nice, but I called prior to my appointment and was told a set price. I arrive and they price changed even though I double checked with her days before. I was also told to bring my own hair and I did. But once I got there, she said I would need to leave to go buy all human hair for the style I want. They provide the hair for you though. She also told me before she talked about the hair I brought that I could buy 1 pack from her for about $5. I get ready to give her the $5 & she said she can take me to the store to buy more I’d need about 5-6 packs! No. I was ready to leave. She then said I could get another style, but I didn’t want another style. The next style I asked about she still tried to play me & said their starting price for braids even though she agreed for $130 and kept saying $160. She then said she would do long medium box braids. The braids are neat but not the length I showed her I wanted and the other woman did not want to start over (in told her after the 2 braid I wanted it longer by the way). I just hope these braids last for a decent amount of time. But I’m not going back there. They do braid nice, but I’m not returning for the simple fact I don’t want to get played again!!!

I went to get my hair braided on September 24, 2015. I told the women that I wanted Senegalese twist. At first the women tried to talk me out of getting them, they were saying my hair is two thick for the twist saying they wouldn’t last. The women wanted me to get box braids, I told them no that was ok I stilled wanted it twisted, I have had it twisted it before and I had no problem with it coming out. I got my hair twisted it was pretty so I thought. As a week went by and my braids started loosing up and I pulled my hair up in a bun, I could see that they did the back of my hair sloppy, the twist in the back of my head were big at the roots not braided properly and it looked a mess when I put them in a bun. I returned to the shop to show the owner, she was willing to fix them but I didn’t have time that day I told her I would return Monday to get them fixed she agreed. The two ladies that braided my hair one had a VERY!!!! bad attitude telling me that is just how we braided that is how your hair should look. As I explained to her no it shouldn’t I paid 150.00 my hair should not look like this. After I get the braids fixed I will not be returning, they are rude, they don’t have good customer service and their work is not good, I wouldn’t suggest anyone to go there.

I went in for micro braids to save me sometime for my wedding three weeks away. When I went to another stylist to have them removed and have my hair styled for my wedding we found that they had braided my hair about to inches down and knotted my hair and the synthetic hair together to seal the braids. I had to cut all of my should length hair off for my wedding and buy a wig. Traumatizing. WILL NEVER GO AGAIN 🙁
