When I moved to Lafayette from San Francisco, I felt nervous about finding someone to cut my hair. I don’t have particularly complicated hair, but I had been working with the same person for the last 11 years. Trusting someone new wasn’t going to come easily. My wife first went to see Lacey at Maven, and she DOES have complicated hair. When she came home with a great cut and told me that Lacey was super nice to her, I decided to give her a shot.

Their Covid policies make me feel safe coming here. I met with Ashley Hood and she was prepared for our appointment. She did an AMAZING job adding the most beautiful purple to my hair. I left there feeling fabulous!! Her pricing is very reasonable and comparable for the excellent job she does.

It was a great experience getting my haircut done by Laura. Being a barber, she really understood the current trends and tailored it to the shape of my head specifically, giving me the first haircut I’ve received in years that didn’t have an annoying ‘spine’ down the middle. I went to Maven for the first time and had my hair cut by Ashley. She is fantastic! My hair is super fine and thin (normally a pain for most stylists), but Ashley did it perfectly. My hair looks thicker and feels healthier. And she did an amazing job with my bangs! I’ve lived in Colorado for over 4 years and Ashley is the first stylist I’ve found who can work with my hair and make it look fuller and the way I want! So glad I found Ashley at Maven.

Laura has been styling my hair for almost 20 years. I was so happy when she opened her own salon, Maven Hair Studio, because I knew it would be perfect. She is an expert colorist and keeps my hair looking completely natural and healthy. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable. They always work to fit you in. Over the years I have tried a few different looks and Laura helps with great ideas. I always feel like a new person when I leave. She carries great products well. I am a customer for life! I just got my hair done by Mallory and I am SO pleased. It’s always hard to start with a new stylist. As a recent transplant to the area, my first venture out was a bit of a disaster.
