Massage Gardens is a individual therapist booth. I specialize on wide variety of massages: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Thai Yoga and Sports Massage, Aromatherapy and reflexology. I vent to Middleburgh School of medical massage and have been working as therapist for 12 years. I use best quality creams and oils and high quality essential oils for aromatherapy. After booking my 90 min shiatsu massage, I realized I had been to Elena years prior for massages, but I had since found other practitioners that I liked better. I had never had a shiatsu massage before (although I had watched some YouTube videos), and I was curious how it would be different. When I arrived, she confirmed “regular massage,” and I corrected her that it should be a shiatsu massage. The massage itself was very similar to the massages I had from her previously; there didn’t seem to be anything special or different about her shiatsu massage. Her techniques felt like she was going through a routine: sloppy, deft, and fast…. very fast. The speed prevented my nervous system from ever really relaxing. Then, I began to realize that she was pacing for a 60 min massage, not a 90 min. She announced that we were done, and I again had to correct her that I had booked a 90 min. Fortunately, she didn’t have another client coming in and was able to provide the additional 1/2 of work, but she was just repeating her rapid techniques to eat up time. The whole experience was awkward and didn’t leave me feeling relaxed nor refreshed.

I first found Elena through Groupon but I’ve been coming back regularly for a couple of years now. Definitely my favorite place for a massage, and I like to get one at least monthly. Elena is a great person – down to earth, thoughtful, really cares about her business. She has a no-frills space, and she offers great value – you get a full hour massage, the price is beyond fair, and she does a great job. I saw one or two negative reviews here criticizing her communication – please people, be fair on small businesses! This is a one-woman shop, and she manages every aspect herself – booking, following up, managing the space and of course providing all the services. Be a little patient and you’ll be getting the best deal on a quality massage available anywhere in the area.

I had 3 appointments here, and only 2 actually occurred. After scheduling all 3 appointments she tried to reschedule them the week of saying she had conflicting appointments, when I had scheduled my appointments far in advance. The first 2 appointments she honored the agreed upon times, but cut me over 20 minutes short. She did offer 30 minutes free each time that occurred, which was really the only reason I kept making more appointments. I scheduled my 3rd appointment in preparation for the world championships in the sport I compete in, which was communicated to her. The day of the appointment, 2 days before the event she canceled. The massage was slightly better than average, but not worth the level of unprofessionalism. She doesn’t answer the phone, and only schedules via text. Which wouldn’t be bad if you didn’t have to wait over 48 hours to get a response.

Does not reach out to you when cancelling an appointment she just won’t show up or answer the phone then texts you hours later with an excuse every time. Rescheduled me 3x and did the same thing each time. Don’t book at this place and if you do definitely don’t let her know you’re booking off groupon.

Purchased 60 minute massage thru Groupon and booked appointment thru Groupon. On day of appointment, I called to confirm since website states they are closed on Mondays. They were in fact open but advised me there was a 90 minute appointment booked at the same time as me. She said she would have to call me back since she was with a customer and I never heard from her again! Got refunded from Groupon and will take my business elsewhere!!!!
