The massage was okay but the atmosphere was terrible. It was difficult to relax when you hear EVERYTHING. Employees gossiping, other massage therapist speaking quite loudly to their clients after their treatments. Not to mention that their workers PUSH you to try and get a membership there, and for add-ons to your session. I tipped the lady that did my massage, since I know what it’s like to live on tips, however for a 90min massage, $10 aromatherapy, and tip…it was $150 for terrible atmosphere, and an okay massage. Won’t be coming back. $10 bottle of aromatherapy below

Critical: ProfessionalismI was a member at the Rancho Bernardo location for years that is now closed…bummed. I recently went to the Escondido location and it was not a good experience. While I was waiting for my appt. (which the therapist was late) The front desk was gossiping about the other employees and someone in a white coat came out scolded and ranted on about them not placing an order. I went to get a massage to get away from tension but instead I walked right into it. Very unprofessional. I was a member at the Rancho Bernardo location for years that is now closed…bummed. I recently went to the Escondido location and it was not a good experience. While I was waiting for my appt. Dominique Brewer was RUDE and very unprofessional! I left an email to franchise with my complaint and the last person I expected to respond with their half ass apology was the same person I complained about! That’s the last person I wanted to speak to- I was refused my massage due to a medication I am on. However, I just had a massage two weeks prior at a different location and they didn’t have a problem with the medication I was on. I demanded a refund since I was denied service and was refused that too- I had a membership with 6 massages prepaid for but since I canceled my membership, all of my massages were automatically expired?!?!! No one ever told me that! This place is a joke- I do not recommend this place!!!!

I was a member of Massage Envy for one year. 6 months after I stopped my membership they made an unauthorized charge. I called them and they said they would correct it. Two weeks later it was still on my account. I called again and was told it was an “IT” problem they were working on and a manager would call me back. No one EVER called me back. I had to call my bank to dispute this charge. My bank said this was not an unusual practice for Massage Envy. Whatever good experience I had is long gone and I am warning everyone to stay clear!!!

Very unprofessional place!! I made an appointment with specific date and time. It’s the day of my appointment, I show up and the receptionist tells me that they apologize but my massage therapist had to cancel and at THAT time, they couldn’t find my number to notify me. Really now? Couldn’t find my number? But yet at the time of booking my appointment they bombarded me with questions getting my contact information. Clearly the name and phone number are the first two questions they ask you, OH and your credit card information. They can’t forget that! So, they couldn’t find my number to call and cancel??? I really needed this massage and they didn’t even bother to notify me until I was at their location. They are very unprofessional with communication. No wonder this place has a 3 star rating. I would give a zero if I could. I will NEVER come here again!

Steer clear of this place. They are more than happy to sign you up and take your money for a membership, but be forewarned: when it’s time to cancel, which they promise is something that is easy to do, they will rip you off for more money.
