After being a FAITHFUL Massage Envy customer (withdrew money out my account every month) for OVER three years, I MUST say I canceled my contract and would never return back to Elmwood’s office. I must say this, “My therapist is awesome!” Her name is Shelita! She’s awesome because her love, mannerisms, smiles, concern about my health, and work ethics are second to none! This is why I followed her to Harahan! When they closed the Kenner location (without notifying me in advance) on West Esplande, I said I would follow her to Harahan! I’m so sorry I did! Not because of her! It was the darn management named Sarah! Her spirit comes straight from the pits of Hell! She’s very arrogant, rude, unapologetic, and unapproachable! It appears like she hates African Americans! Due to her ongoing nasty ways, I declare to leave! I wish the company well but MY MONEY can spend anywhere! Please know this….That’s NOT the place to go! I went to become relaxed! However, I received misery from management! Therefore I will say what I should have received and that’s “PEACE!”

Critical: Communication, Professionalism, QualityIF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING HERE – AVOID A HASSEL AND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND GO ELSEWHERE. BELOW IS MY PERSONALE EXPIRIENCE WITH THE PLACE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!Dear Massage Envy,As a newcomer to New Orleans after living in New York, I was super excited to move home and be back in a state that understands customer service and hospitality. But your business has only disappointed. There is no empathy, no respect, no courtesy, and overall no help from the Harahan, Elmwood Massage Envy front desk. The first time I called to book a massage, they were cold and detached, not interested in offering me service. So I booked an appointment elsewhere. I then tried again – by booking online and avoiding the hassle of speaking with the horrible people from the front desk. Where what I could find was a slot for a month out. I patiently booked the appointment and have been patiently and secretly hoping to have a good experience. But no… of course not! Today, a day before my appointment, I receive a text message (the day before my appointment date). I am informed that my appointment has been canceled and am asked to call a number or reschedule. Like if I were picking up groceries and hadn’t been waiting for this for a month! When I call (hoping for a solution) – guess what? I am presented with poor and horrible de-personalized and cold customer service. There is no empathy, no respect, lack of critical thinking, or solution mindset. Plain old ‘screw you’ attitude. Which quite honestly is wholly unnecessary and infuriating. So I am taking my time to escalate this issue. I find it insulting and disrespectful to my worth and time to be treated this way. In no way, shape or form SHOULD ANY PERSON ever be treated this way. Massage Envy, you offer a SERVICE – like, it’s not a bar that I am calling. Why aren’t your employees educated in empathy and customer service values? I am genuinely speechless dear Massage Envy, is being uncourteous and rude part of your customer service values? Is this the kind of attitude your employees are taught to have? Because this is outright insulting. You are a customer-based company. There are many ways to give a hard no to your clients without making them feel bad. Your employees’ soft skills are laking and tactless. Honestly, I cannot even deal with it. I will not be receiving any service for this company -ever! But as a human and ex-client, I must say this is shameful and needs to be escalated and addressed.Have a blessed day,Mishelle PhillipsIF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING HERE – AVOID A HASSEL AND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND GO ELSEWHERE. DO NOT JOIN THE MEMBERSHIP!! We’ve had it for a year and have only gotten three massages!! They NEVER have appointments available and when you do get an appointment three weeks later, it’s conveniently canceled. Plus you can only go to the facility you sign up with. I swear they only employ 3 massage therapists!

Beware of this business at this location. They talked my 70 year old wife into a membership, never telling her that her credit card would be charged $60 a month for a year. After the first charge, went in to cancel, and they said it must be in writing. She brought in a written cancellation, and even then they continued to charge her card 4 additional times. The manager was spoken to several times, and she said she would have the district manager, Nick, give us a call about the situation. He never called. I went down there on the day they charged our account again in December, and the manager then told me we had to have a doctors note to cancel. I then had to waste my, and my doctors time to cancel this ridiculous account.

Critical: Communication, QualityBooked my appointment online. A few days ago. Something told me to call them the morning of the appointment to make sure everything was in order. I call and they have no record of my appointment. I took a screenshot of the online confirmation page and emailed it to them but it was pointless bcuz the girl told me that they were booked and there was nothing that they could do. You would think that she would attempt to try and fit me in. No effort extended on their part.Update: Please do not put my whereabouts on the internet. Hopefully, i don’t have a stalker that I’m trying to dodge. Was it necessary to say what location and the date of my new appointment? Booked my appointment online. A few days ago. Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismI spoke with a manger by the name Rachel in regards to canceling my membership due to me having Chemo which is a health reason, and Covid I will no longer need any more services at this time, she stated that membership can’t be cancel. I also indicated to her that I spoke with someone in April about canceling my membership which they said was not problem, however, that was never done.Today, I received a notice from my bank indicating a negative charge due to Massage Envy charging a service fee, which put my account in negative. My husband and I are not working and currently unemployed due to this pandemic. Rachel never acknowledge that information that I shared with her, or even offered a refund to me In fact she totally disregard that I ask for a refund and a refund of my overdraft fee due to Envy charging me.Rachel stated that no charges were charge to anyone while the building was closed. I again stated to her that I received a very vague text message on May 12th stating they will not bill for May until they reopen. No reopening date was indicated , nor when billing will resume again. So how would I have known that information without a follow up text, email or phone call stating you will re-bill customers.Rachel I find to be very unprofessional and lacking customer service skills. I asked her for cooperate contact info, or to speak with someone above her, she stated that Nick is her director and he was out. I do need Nick to give me a call or response to my email. Please cancel my membership and I need to be refunded for June.I spoke with a manger by the name Rachel in regards to canceling my membership due to me having Chemo which is a health reason, and Covid I will no longer need any more services at this time, she stated that membership can’t be cancel. I signed up for a 6-month membership last October. When they can’t accomodate me for a massage, I went to another location. After my massage, the lady there told me that I have a 1-year membership showing on her computer, so on my way home, I stopped by the Elmwood location to clarify. The ladies there told me, “Don’t worry, you only got 6 months membership. I have it in the notes in your profile”. My last monthly payment should have been March but now it’s April and they are charging my card again!!! This business establishment is shady. Watch out.

A friend of mine came into town for a little rest and relaxation. I could think of nothing better than a trip to Massage Envy. She messaged me as soon as her appointment was finished, and had rave reviews of the ambiance and incredibly pleasant staff. I would recommend this location for anyone needing a quick getaway or much needed pampering.

I do not recommend this location, Metairie, or New Orleans. Highly under staffed, never have appointments available, and if you schedule appointments 2-6 months in advance they will call and cancel on you. This happened on atleast 4 different occasions; below is not the only time this has happened. It’s always an excuse with them and no other location will accommodate. They take your money and never provide a service so it’s a scam.
