To preference this review which may seem harsh. Know that I have monthly massages at Destress Express, a locally owned boutique type spa by a very seasoned and skilled therapist. I had to miss an appt so I was finally able to use a GC a friend got me for this place.

I like firm pressure so when I asked Faith was recommended as well as trying her hot stones for 90 minutes. I went early at 1245 for a 1pm today and sat until 111pm I had to go ask if I was checked in. Brittany the very nice front desk lady went and check and stated the hot stones where being warmed and she would be with me. Faith came and got me at 115pm brought me to the room and asked what I liked, she never said a word about being late. I explained and she told me she hasn’t done firm in over 4 years. I said ok you were referred so we’ll see what you do. She told me she was the best and had all the clients booking her out so ok. By that time it’s 120pm and I’m just about to get undress. Takes her another 5 minutes to come in the room and set up with stones. Ok so she started by leaning her elbow in my calf and staying there and I say that’s too much pressure. She says well that’s my deep pressure and I have the strongest fingers here. I let her know then ok give me your medium but, she starts off the same way and then starts lightly rubbing me then moves on to using the stones. It was one of the worst massages I have gotten and have been going massage envy for over 10 years. It’s like she wanted to prove some point, dig down, stop and through out the massage she would stop and rub with one hand. I had to ask a couple of times if everything was ok. She kept telling me she was the best and most requested there. I had to tell her I didn’t want the stones. So she continues with just her hands. Basically it was an inconsistent massage and I don’t see how she’s the best. I tried Abbey and she was wonderful, I’m going stick with Abbey and take no more recommendations. Just my take on trying to relax. I did not get my 90 minutes. She was done at 230. Would not recommend her or hot stones. This is the first time I have ever felt like leaving a comment.

I was extremely disappointed with my massage today. The person giving the massage said she can do all pressures, that 100% false. I need a deep tissue massage to get any real result’s out of it. I literally ended up feeling the same when I went in except for the fact I know had a bunch of lotion on my body. When the person in the front asked how it went I told her I was disappointed. She said oh I’m sorry…its going to be $83.00. I was in disbelief in her response. Hopefully I can get faith next time. She knows how to give a massage.

Went to the newport news location 4 times. First masseuse forgot her name was wonderful room located in front smelt nice. Can’t seem to get her again though. Then Had a guy Mike who seemed scared. I also had a bad allergy attack because the room smelt like an ashtray, it was a back room on left hand side. So obviously left miserable. 3rd time got faith she was late but wonderful pressure got front room also so was good massage. 4th time got faith again & yet again was late, pressure was off, she kept stopping using one hand as if maybe doing something else with other hand. Got that room in back left hand side that again smelt like an ashtray, so left feeling awful coughing sneezing, awful allergy attack. Very disappointing. Not sure what goes on in those back rooms but it should not smell like a smoking room. So today I will be trying the hampton location with Brian we will see.

Nice place, nice people, amazing massage therapist! I’ll be back. Located in a nice shopping area too. You’ll be able to grab a bite to eat after you’ve had your amazing session. They do facials too!

Just got done with my first ever massage and it was wonderful. Faith was my therapist and was absolutely fantastic! It was a very mellow, calming experience and I do feel waaaay better than before I showed up. Faith was clearly experienced, she did an excellent job of reading my body’s reaction to her pressure and also was fun to conversate with as well. Thank you!

I was recommended to try out Massage Envy and I am so glad I did, Carl did a wonderful job getting all of the knots and tightness out of shoulders and legs. Went for massage at this location today. I told the therapist is needed work on back, shoulders, and legs. The therapist spent 5 minutes massaging my fingers? No work even got done on my lower body. Then after the massage the hard sell for a membership was the worst part. I felt like I had stumbled onto a used car lot.

Absolutely, the worst. I get massages every two weeks or so for training and I have for years. This place is the worst I have ever been to. Trashy and overpriced. I’m not sure which I wasted more the time or the money.
