I feel great after my massage! The woman did a great job at making me feel comfortable, asking my trouble spots and taking the tension away. The reason for only 4 stars is the front desk. When did customer service become a “bother”? We felt like we were an inconvenience for the women with the RBF checking us out. Please remember you are in customer service position, so if you hate people as much as your face says please find a job that you don’t have to see people.

The services are generally very good. Have been pleased with most of the therapists. The problem is that it is nearly impossible to make an appointment, especially if you work and need something on the weekend. I’ve not been able to book a massage for many months. If you are a member, you will continue to pay your monthly fee month after month, but will be hard-pressed to get an appointment. If you cancel your membership you forfeit all of your prepaid appointments, which is really just wrong. You can freeze your membership for a period of time but will still be billed $10/month. I understand staffing is a challenge everywhere, but Massage Envy should consider adjusting their business practices so people have the opportunity to use up the credits they’ve been accumulating for months without continuing to be charged for services they may never get to use.

I bought a gift card for a couples massage for my husband last December. After 5 months of trying to schedule, month after month, I was told the location I bought the card from did not do couple massages, yet sold me a GC for it without mentioning that. Finally scheduled with a different location for 2 months later (July). 1 hour before appointment, we were called saying they had to cancel because one of the masseuse didn’t show up. Pushed our appointment to September. Get another call a few days before that appointment to tell us the location had a pipe issue and either had to cancel our appt or move our location. I contacted Corporate regarding situation and wanting a refund for my gift card, they told me since it’s franchised, they can’t do anything but pass off my info. I get a call from (assuming) manager who explained to me they can not refund gift cards but offered to move our appt a day sooner. This didn’t work as my husband had to work so we kept the original appointment but went to other location. Day of appointment comes, the masseuse were 10 mins late, which wasn’t that big of a deal. Asked if we had any problem areas, we explained them, and both masseuse basically avoided all but 1 problem area. At payment, not only was I not offered any kind of “hey, we’re sorry, here’s a discount.” BUT prices apparently had increased since when I bought the gift card because I was told it was $65 each and we had to pay $75 each. So, after 9 months trying to get the appointment and being let down, then having to pay more that I was told when I bought the card, and not a single person doing anything to make it right, we will NEVER return to a massage envy and we are making sure to let everyone know of our horrible experience and the lack of customer service.

You can never get an appointment and if you cancel your membership, they keep all of your massages that are saved up in queue. Massages are paid for- but you lose them. Make it make sense…
