So I went to get my hair braided. Mary and the other worker were nice. I discovered that my braids were nothing that I asked for. I went home only to discover that my braids were coming down and I called Mary. She proceeded to tell me that she doesn’t work on Sunday and that I would have to wait until Monday to have my braids fixed. I told her that I paid and wanted the braids fixed immediately. She agreed. I arrived at the shop at 10am. She continue to call me and tell me what she had to do with her kids and I informed her that I wanted the braids fixed. I waited until 12 noon and she did not arrive. She left me a voicemail saying that I hung up on her and that she was not coming. I wish that I could post a picture of the terrible service. Everyone said that my braids are up to standard for what I paid. I watched her do another customer and and she even returned with her daughter as there were concerns. Please do not get your hair done here. These braids look awful and I have to take them out. There are other braiding shops. I always wear braids and this is by far the worse. Do not get your hair braided at Mary’s African Hair Braiding and Boutique.

Terrible customer service! I had an appointment for Saturday September 9th at 3:00p.m. I showed up 15 minutes earlier and Mary was not there. I waited untill 3:00 and there was still no sign of her. I tried calling her and it went straight to voicemail. I called numerous times and it continued going to voicemail. I had something very important to tend to the next day and I was left trying to figure out something to do for my hair. I spoke to her today, 3 days after the appointment and, she said that she had to get her phone fixed which is why it kept going to voicemail she also said how she had to go to several appointments that day. Not once did she ask me did I want to reschedule or anything, she kept making excuses. I went to her before, sometime in March and, I went for my appointment and, she was not there again. I called her and she said that she was at the grocery store, however she did end up showing up. I am just very upset at the whole situation and I would not recommend anyone to go to her for anything!

Never Again! She has a shop in her basement now. I wish I could post pictures of my hair. I felt like this had to be a joke. I’m devestated 2 days before my vacation 🙁
