I booked with Leah and she was amazing! Not only is she super nice and easy to talk to, she is incredibly talented at what she does. I love how detail oriented she is – I felt like I could trust her to do a good job (and she did!) and I also loved that she would explain things to me in an easy to understand way. I’ve waited almost 3 weeks to leave this review, because I kept thinking maybe I did something wrong, but I’m still so disappointed, I’ve decided to share my experience. I went to M&C to get blonde balayage on my brown hair – and I told Tish I wanted neutral brown undertones. I mentioned this a few times, as I look terrible with a deep ash tone. She did the foils, and when she pulled them off.. I had a head full of brown hair. I said “it doesn’t look very blonde” to which she replied “you said brown 5 times!”. Um.. I meant the undertone (are people out here getting brown on brown balayage?). Okay, obviously we’ve had some miscommunication. She said she’d use a “clarifier” on it – well, I know what that means, and I should have stopped her there, but she stripped it. It was lighter, but not the blonde I had wanted- it just lifted the foiled hair to a light brown. I left, thinking I could fix it, I left a very generous tip, with my total being $250. When I went home, my husband and I spent 20 minutes getting the giant brown drips off of my neck, face and forehead (that I pointed out in the salon, but was ignored). Well, my hair is brassy, redish and fried. I tried to fix it with ash, but it just looks dull and damaged. I called back 6 days later and, she answered the phone, and I explained that I was very unhappy with my brassy red dull hair – she said “it shouldn’t be red!”. Well, it is, and it’s just not the blonde I wanted. She said “I can look at it tomorrow, but I’m leaving at 3” – she seemed irritated that I wasn’t happy, and I wasn’t asking to have it “looked at” – I wanted it fixed. I get it, something went wrong – but for $250 shouldn’t I be a little happy with it? I didn’t bother to go have her “look”, because I shouldn’t have to argue about my hair, when she should have said “you’re not happy? Let’s get you back in and fix it”. I understand miscommunication happens, but her response is why I’m leaving 1 star. I continue to try to fix it, but it still looks bad, and I’m afraid to mess with it too much because it’s damaged. I get upset every time I try to do something with it, 3 weeks later – so I”m leaving this review. Maybe when I have another $250 to drop somewhere else, I’ll get it fixed, and I’ll certainly be bringing a photo of what I think “blonde balayage” is.

The last stylist I went to messed up my uniquely colored hair pretty bad, so I told Tish exactly what I wanted, and it was like she read my mind on the color purple I wanted. I walked out feeling way more confident with my hair and with the best purple dye job I’ve ever had.
