If you live in Kenosha or the surrounding area, especially if you’re an African American , go to Marie Kless to get your hair done!! She’s amazing. She’s gentle, funny, attentive and talented! Marie is the only black hair stylist at the salon right now, but she does extensions, dyes, relaxers and a variety of things for all different races. Just wait until you walk into the salon….it’s beautiful and the setup is so intimate! There’s complimentary water, snacks (and I’m talking Lindt chocolates, and good quality snacks). They have hair stylists, nail practitioners, a barber, a masseuse and probably more that I missed, but everyone there is highly recommended! They have their own little “suites” which I thought was SO cool!!! It doesn’t look like much from outside, but I promise you, book your next appointment there! I have natural hair and I’ve cut it and dyed it, but this is the first time in 7 years that I’ve straightened my hair! I love it. (It was misty that day, so the style kind of got ruined ) and side note, my hair is natural and I got a silk press ❤️ it lasted me a good week!!

Marie’s done my hair a couple of times now, and I must say, she’s one of the best hair designers I’ve ever had! She did my highlights about 2 months ago, and not only did she get the color and pattern that I wanted, she was also able to accommodate changes that I wanted done to the color (I wanted a color that was in between two shades, and with a little less orange etc). Today she did my relaxer touch up and my hair turned out wonderful! She also recommended that I get a trim; I was a little worried about losing too much length, but she reassured me that she wouldn’t take off too much (she didn’t) and that it would turn out absolutely great (it sure did!) I truly recommend giving her a call/visiting her salon for your hair needs because she really, truly delivers. Not to mention that she’s also such a sweet person in general <-- that's always a + I think! :)

I was pleasantly surprised! Kenosha is moving up in the world!!! The salon is located inside an unexpected place. It really needs more advertising. Not only are there hair salons but massages, eyelashes, barbers and other professional small businesses. Marie is pleasant and makes sure she has time just for you. There is no overbooking and her prices are right where you would expect. Marie, the owner, is very personable and knowledgeable. She asks questions about how you care for your hair and gently offers suggestions on more productive ways to care for your hair type. I fell in love with Marie! I no longer have to drive to Illinois for a professional hair dresser where I don’t wait because of overbooking and the beautician is behind. Whew! WELCOME MARIE CARMEL KLESS!!! Kenosha has finally had more value added. The shops inside makes it feel like you’re in an upscale city!!!

I didn’t relax my hair for a little over two years. I searched and searched and finally found Marie. In one day I had an appointment to get it relaxed, cut and styled. Awful. Marie is not personable. It took her an hour and half to cut my 4 inch long hair down to 1 inch and it was uneven. She washed and conditioned my hair, put a styling product in it but did not style it. It looked just as bad as when I came in. I had to put a scarf over it before I left to go home and style it myself. I will NEVER go back or recommend it to anyone. Not worth the $30 bucks from Groupon. Would have rather paid full price and got decent service.
