Amy Hogan Amy Hogan Studio Mantra Co-Founder, Amy Hogan, is excited to bring her passion for yoga and healthy lifestyle to the community of Northwest Austin. Amy’s love of yoga began in 2000 in Charleston, South Carolina. Shortly after graduating college in Mississippi, Amy moved to Charleston and started her career in corporate sales. After attending a Beginner Yoga class at her neighborhood studio in Charleston, Holy Cow Yoga, she was immediately drawn to all the wonderful benefits of the practice. Amy initially started doing yoga as a way to decompress after a stressful workday, but soon realized that the practice of yoga is very deep and she became eager to learn more. Shortly after moving to Austin with her family in 2011, Amy gave up the corporate world in order to spend time with her family and dive deeper into yoga. She soon decided to obtain her 200-hour teacher certification through Yoga Yoga of Austin, and shortly after started her company, Total Balance Yoga, which brought yoga to local businesses. In March 2016, Amy started pursuing her advanced studies in Boulder, Colorado with internationally-recognized yogi/teacher & co-founder of 90 Monkeys Educational Studio, Amy Ippoliti. 90 Monkeys is an online and in-person educational resource for yoga professionals. The goal of 90 Monkeys is to provide yoga instructors and studios the tools to motivate new yoga students and keep existing yogis inspired to continue practicing. Amy H. is inspired by Amy I.’s belief that “more people doing yoga equates to more conscious changes in people and improved well-being; thus, leading to more positive change in the world!” By linking breath with movement, Amy H. inspires students to be the best versions of themselves while taking their practice to the next level. She caters to students of all levels & abilities and ensures that all feel welcome and comfortable. Amy’s students can expect a challenging, (yet heartfelt!) upbeat flow set to strategically selected music. Her teaching style is influenced by the modern teachings of Amy Ippoliti, Sadie Nardini, Kathryn Budig, Stephanie Snyder, Jason Crandell, and Seane Corne. Amy has spent time studying with Sadie Nardini in New York City. She’s passionate about Sadie’s signature style of yoga, Core Strength Vinyasa, which helps students obtain a total body-mind transformation from the inside out. Amy believes that how you show up on your mat is directly related to how you live your life outside the studio. When she’s not teaching or hanging out at Mantra, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Chris, and her two precious children Heath (8) and Harper (4). She’s committed to being a lifelong student of yoga and continues her education by attending local workshops and teacher trainings with influential teachers in Austin and around the country
Angelene Price Angelene believes there is a beautifully symbiotic relationship between the micro experience on the mat and the macro experience of our larger daily lives. She centers her classes around intentional practices to assist her students to draw their focus inward and upward. Working with breath and alignment to help students learn to feel and listen deeply to their bodies, observing what arises on the mat so that they can recognize those patterns within that allow for personal growth off the mat. Her wish for her students is that they take the spaciousness and compassion they cultivate in the sacred studio space out with them to inform their daily lives and their relationships to those around them. Angelene first taught yoga soon after discovering her love of the practice while living in California in 2000. She taught for several years in CA and Seattle, while also working in the technology world as a software project manager and becoming a mom. After moving to Austin in early 2016, she has been delving much deeper into Yogic studies, completing a 200 hour training with Sukha Yoga and she will complete her 500 hour training with Eastside Yoga in June of 2018. She also has an MA in Literature and is always up to talk books or give and take recommendations for a new read! She lives with her husband, teenage son, boxer dog and two quirky cats

Chad Meany Chad has been practicing yoga for 12 years and is a 350-hour certified instructor from Dharma Yoga in Austin. Chad’s first experience with yoga came in 2004, when he attended a pre-natal class with his daughter Marley’s mother. With no expectation or idea of what yoga actually was, he stepped onto the mat, breathed, moved, sweated, humbled, and slowly began to recognize that the answers all lie within. After fumbling through the corporate media machine in NYC for 13 years, yoga was always his rock, and he settled in Austin to further develop his own practice, teach, and continue to strive for happiness. Marley was with him at his first yoga class, and he is comforted knowing that she’s in his heart every time he steps onto his mat. He believes that mindfulness on the mat prepares us for both life’s treasures and trials off the mat. He feels that when we crack open our body, mind, and spirit, the universe exposes itself so we can come home to our true Self. His classes are offered to all levels, blending Sukha (ease) and Stirra (effort), so that students can breathe into any tight space on the mat, but importantly, off the mat. Leaning in to both expansion and edginess is critical, and he provides space for students to explore their own practice with mindfulness to arrive at their highest Selves

KC Taylor KC’s first connection to Kundalini yoga was in his late teens. While living in Big Sur, California one spring he attended a May pole party. With the backdrop of the majestic redwoods & cliffs meeting the Pacific Ocean, the heady vibes of the gathering were raised and expanded when a local Gong master and Kundalini instructor did an hours-long gong bath. From that point in time, he knew he had a connection to this mystical and powerful practice of Kundalini Yoga. The Connection came into fruition when KC moved to Austin, where there is a large and vibrant Kundalini yoga community. After several years of developing his own practice he took the 200-hour teacher training at Yoga Yoga here in Austin. KC brings his passion for the technology of Kundalini to every class. He is continually inspired by the way that Kundalini Yoga is able to strengthen the nervous system, mind, body and intuitive self. KC is also a licensed massage therapist and a Reiki practitioner here at Studio Mantra
Kim Harrison Since childhood, Kim has been fascinated by the seemingly endless ways that our bodies can express beauty and strength. Whether through gymnastics, dance, sports, or yoga, she believes that connecting to our physical bodies can help us uncover our potential and align with our true inner selves. Kim began taking ballet at the age of 7, and it quickly became the center of her childhood. She danced with a ballet company throughout high school and taught ballet classes during her college years. Kim was first drawn to yoga in 2001 during the stressful, sleep-deprived years of graduate school. She has been practicing various styles of yoga ever since, and her practice has helped keep her focused and centered through her relocations from Texas to California to Minnesota to South Carolina and finally, in 2014, back home to Texas. She has taught yoga classes since completing her yoga teacher training in 2013 and barre classes since 2014. When she is not teaching or working her full-time job as a clinical forensic psychologist, she enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, and traveling

Lisa Feder I believe yoga can help everyone feel better, and be more fully engaged and effective in all areas of life, both personal and professional. Lisa has been teaching Yoga for over 10 years. She has had the privilege of studying with Donna Farhi, Sean Corne, Richard Miller, Amy Weintraub and Sarah Powers. Shannon Knisely Shannon is a busy and active wife and mother. She is a graduate of the University of Texas – Austin, where she majored in history and minored in biology. She has always had a passion for health and fitness, which she shares with her entire family. It was through a round about way that she discovered Pilates and it’s amazing benefits. After the birth of her second child, she was inspired to start long distance running when her mother completed a marathon. Shannon ran several half marathons in the next couple of years, but began to experience injuries from her training. Shannon sought help from doctors and PTs, but it was only after meeting her mentor, Amanda Vernor and beginning Pilates sessions that she finally found relief from the pain. Through Pilates Shannon discovered a life-long program that helps her maintain her active lifestyle. Shannon recently concluded her 600-hours in the Somaspace Teacher Training Program, where she is an apprentice and will graduate in the coming weeks
Shoulder Clinic with Allison Bond Sunday, April 15th, 12:30-3:30 p.m. Allison Bond’s Shoulder Clinic addresses neck and shoulder tension caused by everyday posture and movement. It will also address common complaints and common injuries of the shoulder and explain how to create balance in the joint. Key concepts will be revealed and demonstrated on the mat for an active practice that will stabilize your shoulder joints and cultivate the structural integrity, strength and mobility needed to reduce shoulder and neck stress. Yoga beginners and advanced practitioners alike will walk away with enough information to develop a daily home practice to cultivate the strength, structural integrity and mobility needed for happy and healthy necks and shoulders. Allison Bond is a visiting teacher Pralaya Yoga in Houston, Texas. After many years of dance training in the early part of her life, she found the dynamics of yoga nurturing, empowering and familiar. But osteoarthritis, a labral hip tear and scoliosis brought pain and fear to her part-time practice. Despite her physician’s advice, she listened to her intuition and began practicing the Pralaya method, learning intricate details of how the body works and was able to practice again pain-free. Allison began to realize the knowledge and wisdom, spiritually and physically, that followed every practice and every lecture she attended. She sought over 1000 hours of training with Robert Boustany, Andrew Dugas, Diane Long, Ana Forrest and other highly skilled teachers, bringing her deeper and deeper into the experience of her body and spirit on the mat. Now she passes that wisdom along to others for physical and emotional freedom. Allison has taught more than 3,000 hours to professional athletes, children, injured and people dealing with everyday stress, alike. She focuses on body mechanics, alignment and bringing strength and ease onto the mat. Her students leave feeling replenished, happy and balanced. She believes that everyone can be physically and emotionally free and balanced at any age with any limitation | $45.00 |

Tracy Liberman Tracy moved to Austin from Denver and has found a warm place to call home. She began working in the fitness profession in 1997 as the director of a children’s gymnastics center. In 2001 she moved on to become a program director for Pilates, which is also where she was reintroduced to Yoga, inspiring her to learn more. Shortly thereafter, she completed her certification at the 200 hour level and became registered through The Yoga Alliance, RYT. Tracy started teaching Vinyasa and Hatha classes until she began a new role in life as a mom, leading to her certification in prenatal Yoga. She completed her prenatal certification with Leslie Lytle in 2005. Tracy began teaching prenatal classes incorporating a “flow” like style. Then, in 2006 she was blessed to embark on the same journey as her students, teaching prenatal Yoga flow, while pregnant with her second son and again in 2010, pregnant with her 3rd child, a daughter. Tracy’s fun loving teaching style is that of rhythm and flow, influenced greatly by the teachings of B. K. S. Iyengar, Shiva Rea & Ana Forrest. She encourages her students to fluidly move through Vinyasa while deepening postures and finding ease through the effort. Tracy looks to her students for inspiration, personalizing each class she teaches. Tracy, her husband, two boys, daughter and puppy dogs all love life in Austin. She credits Yoga with giving her the energy, balance, and peace to keep up with all of them

Yoga Align Yoga Align is Studio Mantra’s “nerdy hatha” yoga class, inspired by the alignment work in the Iyengar and Anusara yoga systems. We will slow down the class pace and break down safe alignment for postures, introduce yoga benefits, and focus on our sense of self-awareness. In Yoga Align, poses will be held a bit longer than in a flow class to lengthen & strengthen muscles and to balance the mind/body connection. Align is a progressive, mixed-levels class; teachers will offer modifications and time to play with more challenging poses.

Zero Balancing Developed by Fritz Smith, MD in the early 1970s, Zero Balancing is a powerful body-mind therapy that uses skilled touch to address the relationship between energy and structures of the body. Following a protocol that typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes, the practitioner uses finger pressure and gentle traction on areas of tension in the bones, joints and soft tissue to create fulcrums, or points of balance, around which the body can relax and reorganize. Zero Balancing focuses primarily on key joints of our skeleton that conduct and balance forces of gravity, posture and movement. By addressing the deepest and densest tissues of the body along with soft tissue and energy fields, Zero Balancing helps to clear blocks in the body’s energy flow, amplify vitality and contribute to better postural alignment. A Zero Balancing session leaves you with a wonderful feeling of inner harmony and organization | $95.00 |
