I went to Mane Effects for the first time in 2015 and I absolutely loved Karen aka Bubbles and the haircut she gave me. A few months later, my mom let me dye my hair purple after I had begged her for months. I went back to Mane Effects to get my hair trimmed and Karen was quite horrified that I decided to dye my hair such an unnatural color. I don’t remember her exact wordage, but she criticized me for not sticking to a more natural color and made my mom feel horrible for allowing it. She said that if I was her daughter, she would have never allowed it. I was on the verge of tears sitting in the salon chair. There was another, older woman in the room as well and she made a point to say to Karen that her comments were not welcomed and extremely unnecessary. You are supposed to feel uplifted and confident after a haircut and I left feeling like two cents. She lacks severely in customer service. I never went back and I would not recommend her to anyone.
