Some stylist are better than others…I went in for medium knotless with bohemian…I paid the deposit online with the extra for the curly hair,and the additional minus the deposit was to be paid at the salon..I was also told that there was a 20$ additional charge on top of the balance due…I told the stylist that was not stated online and I was told everyone gets charged extra. I believe some stylist try and get a tip up front and the customers are still left feeling guilty if we don’t give a tip at the end. I still gave a tip and my hair was done so much better at other shops.

Angry doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings towards this place. Don’t get me wrong the ladies here are very kind and pleasant but very inconsiderate of peoples time. I had an appointment at 5pm. I waited TWO HOURS AFTER my appointment time. So then I complained and the women tells me it’s going to be another hour! Huh!? Mind you it’s 7pm and I’m getting waist Length knotless, who’s sitting in the salon at 2 in the morning. What’s the point of having an appointment if you’re going to take walk ins before scheduled appointments. This one women even said she had to be at work at 8 and had to call out because she waited so long. If they were short staffed, they knew that before I got there and could’ve called to give me a heads up. (Which is funny because they responded to another review saying they give a heads up when they run behind HA) They wouldn’t like it if a client was 3 hours late. Clients deserve that same respect. Then I told them I’m leaving and I want my deposit back, now I have to wait to get that back is insane. They waisted my time and my money. I live almost a hour away, and no compensation. All I got was two hours of my life gone and out $40 plus the gas it took to get there. This place will never see my face in there again

Since going natural in 2019, this is my second time getting braids and it was a great experience. Very professional and clean establishment as the smell of fabuloso was in the air when I arrived. Love the smell of cleanliness! Chi Chi styled me with bra length medium knot less braids and they look fabulous! Lightweight and easy to move around on the second day. She finished in a little under 5 hours. Her energy and vibe was so welcoming and genuine. She assisted me with color and was serious about her parts☺️ Which I can appreciate the importance of detail and consistency. AMAZING JOB! I will book with her again. Thank you Chi Chi!!!

I usually love coming here because of the high quality of work when I last had Mamacita do my hair, but I had someone different this time, and my braids are very choppy in the back. I asked for large size knotless on the butt, and these were almost down to my knees when they finished. After I checked and saw that I was supposed to only have them at the butt, I asked them could they trim them to the appropriate length. They cut it and didn’t re-braid the end so everything looks very sloppy. For $220 I was very displeased, the braids are pretty in the front but choppy and unfinished in the back and on the ends. To finish it all off the woman in the store was trying to charge me an additional $20-$40 after I showed her my deposit and correct price on the website. She said “Mamacita needs to change the price it’s wrong on the website” but I don’t think that was my fault or problem. This isn’t the first time the website said one price and in shops it’s another. I think this will be my last time the prices are getting too high for experiences like this

They are very professional. I like the fact that once you make your appointment for a certain time you are not waiting around to be taken care of. My braider Flora was very gentle with my hair. I will definitely be going back.

I scheduled an appointment for Bohemian Knotless box braids after seeing an Instagram post stating they have human hair for the bohemian look. I preferred the human hair as I was going on vacation and would be swimming as synthetic hair tangles in water. I called ahead to confirm and was told human hair would be available and there would be an $80 up charge. The appointment was made for 8/22 as I was leaving for vacation on 8/23. Once there I told them what I was there for and ever provided my confirmation email so that everything was fine (So I thought). My appointment was for 9am and the braider came in a 10am. She then had me wait an additional 45min while she prepped the braiding hair. Once the braiding began I noticed the braider pulling out synthetic hair for the bohemian look. I immediately stopped stating that I was told human hair would be available. I was told by two braiders that not only did they not have the human hair but they had no idea what I was talking about. I explained the purpose of the human hair and was told that they’ve never received a complaint about the synthetic hair. Well it was a day before my vacation and was out of options so I agreed and they proceeded. Needless to say the hair tangled immediately on my trip! I paid $300 for braids on 8/22/22 and took them out due to tangling on 8/29/22 exactly 1 week later. I did inbox the owner explaining the issue as I did not want to write a bad review. However, after 5 hours with no response…..well now you have my unpleasant review.

I was the first one here at 8:45am for a 9am appt. The doors opened after 9 and three people started before me. I thought I was waiting for the person I requested when booking only to find that she was working on someone else. (Who arrived after me). I specifically booked this day because it’s when Suliat was available and I liked the work she was tagged in on ig. You should not have the option to select a braider if the person is there and you don’t match them with the person who requested them. Furthermore I booked and paid extra for ombré hair only to be told after being here 45 minutes they do not have it. When booking, you should allow people to select the color they want to avoid disappointing clients. I primarily came here because of the option to have ombré hair. I usually bring my own ombré hair to appointments as most places don’t offer it. I would have done so for this appointment if I was advised prior what was and was not available. The shop was nice and clean and despite some minor imperfections I’m overall satisfied.

Ladies! Braids by Mamacita salon slays my hair every time! Not Only are the stylists friendly & creative with the hairstyle choices but these ladies are fast OK, which I love!
