The owner of this shop is awesome. She listens to what you want in a haircut and has enough experience and confidence to follow directions or offer suggestions if you ask. I noticed she has a “for sale” sign in the window but intends to work part time when the shop sells. Thank goodness for that! Sharon is a keeper. Three cheers for MainStreet Barber Shop, downtown East Tawas!!!

Been going elsewhere for a long time and I was never happy with my cuts but after Sharon got done I couldn’t have been happier with my new cut. She totally understand what I said I wanted and styled it perfectly as if she could see the vision in my head. Thank you Sharon I can’t wait to see you again.

The only reason I give it two stars is because Kim that works on Saturday is fantastic and cut my hair really well during my first experience here. I went in yesterday for my second cut and was met with complete rudeness by the other woman who works there. She had a very small sign on the door that said back in 10 minutes that I overlooked because she was in the shop walking around. She acted like I was an idiot and pointed at the sign, then without saying a word walked back to the employee bathroom and washed her hands. I walked right out and will never be back again. I have worked in the service industry for almost a decade and that is no way to treat customers Especially ones that come 2 times a month or more. I’ll take my money to someone who knows how to service with a smile.

I have had my hair cut by the same barber for over 10 years. My cut is nothing fancy just well blended and cleaned up …today my ultimate fear came true trusting a different barber with my hair…I even showed her a picture of what I get which she did not take the time to pay attention to and by the time my hair was slaughtered it showed. Side blend not so horrible but from the sides to the top is embarrassing…so much that I will now drive 2 hours back to my hometown to get it cut…she was rude and would not listen to my requests and cut me off when I tried to tell her what I wanted…hats for me for the next 3 weeks
