Jennifer was so informative and helpful when making my decision with my hair. She was very friendly and definitely knows what she’s doing! There were many salons in Summerville that didn’t show their “hair work” & she did and I loved her previous cuts & colors! Even though it was a drive in order to get my hair done right, it was completely worth it!

About 4 weeks ago I went to Magnolias Salon to get a haircut and to get bangs for the first time in about 20 plus years. When I called to make the appt, they were able to get me in on the same day, that evening. I hadn’t had my haircut at a salon in close to 2 years so I had high hopes and expectations. When I got there, there were two customers ahead of me. I was almost immediately greeted by the Older gentlemen who had long hair in a ponytail. I was told there would be a little bit of a wait and that they apologize. After about 20 mins of waiting the Younger gentleman, also with long hair in a bun tried to make small talk to keep me comfortable during my wait. I noticed immediately that the Younger gentleman seemed much more relaxed and enjoyable. He was chatty and kind. The older gentlemen seemed as if he had had a very long day. He seemed exhausted and did not seem like he wanted to be there at all. The customer he had ahead of me, when she left I noticed the way he styled her hair look unfinished and he seemed annoyed at the questions she was asking him at the counter. I was hoping I would get the younger gentleman as my hairstylist but we was busy with his customer. After about 40 mins, I finally sat down in the chair, the younger gentleman who was doing some one else’s hair started talking with me while the older gentlemen went to the back. He was asking what I wanted as far as my haircut and etc. When the older gentlemen came over, he seemed super annoyed that he had yet another customer. He kept making a noise like a grunting or a huffing noise. I’m not sure if that is just a tick of his or if he was just that tired and exhausted he was expressing it through sound?? Some ppl have ticks like that while eating or working, so fine, no big deal. But he didn’t even really ask what I wanted done. The younger gentleman told him to cut my hair dry, and then I told him how I wanted my hair. I kept making suggestions about what I wanted but he wouldn’t give any feedback. When he combed my hair, the combs snagged my mask two times and he told me just to take my mask off bc he isn’t wearing his bc he can’t breathe in it. I told him no, I wasn’t going to take my mask off bc my family has had a covid once and I don’t want them getting it again. He did listen to some suggestions I made but he didn’t tell me he was going to do them. He started acting a little nicer towards the end, but by that time I was so uncomfortable I made my mind up that I would not be going back there and I should have went somewhere else to get my bangs cut. When he was done cutting my hair, I asked him to straighten it so that it looked nice. He Literally went over my hair for 20 seconds with the flat iron and said he was done. My hair was still wavy and I left looking like an OLD LADY! One of the suggestions I made was for him to cut my bangs and beside the bangs, cut that hair a little shorter so it goes from short on the front to longer on the sides. He did do that but I think he cut my bangs a little far over and the pieces I wanted longer are slightly too short. When I flat iron them, I have to give those pieces extra attention or they will stick out over my glasses, I usually have to tuck them into the sides of my glasses to hold them down. When I went to pay, I asked for a pen that was sanitized, bc the cup on the counter said “clean pens ” but when I asked he said they weren’t clean. So he went to the back and got lysol and the younger gentleman helped him. When he came back he lysoled the pen and while my hand was right there he layed the pen on the counter for me to grab instead of handing to to me. His whole demeanor seemed annoyed and tired. I am super disappointed with how my experience went bc as I was telling the younger gentleman and the other customer, I have not treated myself to the salon in over 2 years bc I have kids and I don’t take much time to do things for myself. So to have my experience go like this was very upsetting. I will definitely be going to a different salon next time.

2nd time here. Love the feel of this place, such a good vibe. Everyone is so friendly. Scott has done a fantastic job both times with my color, a very particular purple. I’m thrilled I found Scott, and I’m so glad my hair has friends at Magnolia’s.

I have been going to Magnolia’s for months now. Scott is amazing! Not only are his styling reccomendations great but his execution and technique are excellent. I get lots of compliments on my hair. He has cut, dyed, highlighted, lightened, and styled my hair multiple times and it is always exactly what I wanted and more. I highly recommend Magnolia’s salon, the atmosphere is lively and fun and the staff are caring and talented. Ask for Scott!

I just relocated here from NJ where my daughter in law had previously done my perms. I had pretty high standards because she did them to perfection as far as I was concerned. In fact, I probably put it off far too long because I just didn’t think that I would find anyone here that would measure up to her standards. I was lost and had to pick a salon from the website alone! Well, God was helping me for sure! I went to Magnolia’s and Michael rolled a perfect perm on my head!!! I was so pleased with the way that my hair came out! He took his time and made sure that I was happy! I couldn’t be more pleased and will go back to him for my perms again in the future! I highly recommend Michael! Thank you so much Michael!!!

My mom suggested I go see Chris, and he was so nice and did a great job. Not to mention he stayed late to cut my hair. He does a great job with my moms hair as well.
