Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueCarina at Magnolia Ave Salon is WONDERFUL! I went in today for my first professional haircut since a bad experience 9 months ago. I brought pictures, but she understood exactly what I was looking for by talking through it with her. She customized the style to best flatter my features, and desire to continue growing my hair out. She was a delight start to finish, just talkative enough, and incredibly warm, funny and welcoming. Great scalp massage while shampooing, good advice for styling, and beautiful soft layers. What’s not to like?She is new at the salon, so she is less pricey and more available than other stylists, but I suspect she will fill up soon.The salon is beautiful and clean, with large open open windows, and a friendly staff. Carina at Magnolia Ave Salon is WONDERFUL! I went in today for my first professional haircut since a bad experience 9 months ago. I brought pictures, but she understood exactly what I was looking for by talking through it with her. She customized the style to best flatter my features, and desire to continue growing my hair out. I just moved to Marin county from SF, and was recommended by a friend to visit Magnolia. I actually had a botched highlight done last week, so I called Magnolia in a panic for some help. The owner of the salon (Karen) ended up doing my highlight and OH MY GOSH, it is incredible. She was quick and efficient, yet still payed attention to every single detail. Each highlight is perfectly placed and the color is beautiful. I’ve honestly never been so happy with my hair!! Highly recommend the salon, and specifically recommend Karen. It is only right that my first google review is for this AMAZING salon. I just moved to Marin county from SF, and was recommended by a friend to visit Magnolia. I actually had a botched highlight done last week, so I called Magnolia in a panic for some help. The owner of the salon (Karen) ended up doing my highlight and OH MY GOSH, it is incredible. Elizabeth absolutely nailed my hair color and balayage! And she blew and waved it out beautifully. I felt like a million bucks leaving the salon! Wonderful place.

I had a terrible haircut with Karen the owner of the salon. If you read other reviews you see that she is not consistent in her work. She did a horrible hair cut for me and after I complained she said you are better off to go to other salon! What a nice way of customer service! She has a very high confidence that fools you to believe she is an artist and a senior stylist! I sent her pictures of my before and after hair cut and I believe that since she knows she does not meet the high standards she is asking me to go to another salon! If she was able to fix it why she would say so!

I moved here recently and was looking for a new hair stylist. My daughter has been going to Vicki at Magnolia for years so she bought me a gift certificate for color. I worked with Brittany and she did a fabulous job. It was like watching an artist at work, and I have the best color ever since I turned gray. Everything about the salon was great!

This review is for Chad Malm’s work at Magnolia Avenue Salon. Chad’s been great since he first worked on my hair. With the first cut and style he showed a lot of attention and care to detail and checked in frequently for feedback and to make sure I liked the styling. Later he did a high end keratin treatment on my hair and I really love the results. It took a while, but he was really committed to doing an excellent job. The texture of my hair is soft and natural, but without frizz. Blowdrying takes only a few minutes and my hair looks good pretty much all the time. No more money spent on blowouts. Chad is really sweet and great to talk to. He’s never too busy to answer a question. I hope to see him again and again.
