I visited the Madison Reed Color Bar Salon in Shrewsbury, NJ in August 2022. I worked with Abby and she was fantastic! She looked up my MR hair color before I arrived and we chatted about my gray hair issues. Abby did a beautiful job applying my go to touch up color, Dosano Brown, and covered my gray hair thoroughly. Very nice atmosphere in the salon also. I made another appointment and plan to visit soon. I have natural hair and want to let anyone with natural hair know that they will get great color at this salon! Thank you MRCBS at Shrewsbury!

This place needs a front desk receptionist, the colorists have to handle the job as well as do color & blowouts. My 1st colorist Tanya quit, then the manager quit, then my colorist Abby quit. No one works there now other than one girl, Terraine. Gloria from Summit had to do my color last time but she was just filling in temporarily. Terraine called out that day so Gloria was literally all alone all day in the salon. She did color, washes & front desk reception. Yesterday, my 4 PM appointment was canceled 45 minutes prior because there was no colorist. As a courtesy to your customers, can you please either staff the location or close it down?

I was desperate to get my grays colored, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to try them out. The colorist does not know how to explain the advantages of the Madison Reed color nor how to pick the color or timing on; based on listening to my request. She completely refused to modify her ways to make me comfortable. The Shampoo experience was a horror. I left without the Blowdry. Got home reshampooed and after drying what was my beautiful 3 dimensional brown color became darkened and opaque. I now have black hair. I am very upset. I had no desire or request to change the level or depth of my color only to cover grays and tone the redness. Don’t go there with these two women who are running the place, right now. I will reach out to corporate office to further describe my experience. I don’t know what to do with my dark hair.

Been there 3 times now for a root touch up. Weird how when you walk in, there’s no person to greet you and check you in. You just stand there waiting until one of the colorists are available.
