Do not go to this place! I had an appointment yesterday and it’s the worst hair highlights job that was ever done to my hair! I got white/yellow large bleached sports and patches on the top of my head and left side. I can not believe it was done by a “licensed” professional! After paying $155+tips now I have to go to a normal salon to fix this horror! Their toner covers the bleached sports until the first wash.

My regular stylist took a month off due to a family issue so I scheduled a root touch up and gloss at Madison Reed in San Ramon. My colorist was Mercedes who was awesome. We agreed on a color and Mercedes was kind, professional and informative. She explained how the process worked since it was my first time and they have a new kind of business model for a salon. I was impressed with how efficient it was and the cost is very reasonable. I didn’t catch the name of the woman who washed my hair but she was also really nice and suggested a hydration treatment, which I ended up doing. I dried my own hair and really liked that it was an option. I was really happy with the color and might end up sticking with MR for color instead of my regular salon. They also offer a membership for root touch ups which is at an amazing price.

My wife had an appointment and she finds out her appointment was canceled when she arrived at the location. She was treated rudely and when asked for the manager, she was as careless as the worker. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueThe first couple of experiences I had with the San Ramon location of Madison Reed were great – even color, thorough shampoos, and relaxing scalp massages. Lately, color is unevenly applied with there still being a few gray patches near my ears and temples that I can’t see until I get home and can look closely. The shampooing has been really rough, too. I don’t think conditioner was even applied last time, and color wasn’t washed out around my neck or in various spots on my head. Instead of an all-over scalp massage, it’s really hard fingernail scratching concentrated to a couple spots to the point of soreness. I don’t feel comfortable saying anything while I’m there. The “after photo” is inappropriate and really misses the point–how about inspecting the work instead and having a candid conversation about whether the experience was good? I love the color and a couple of the stylists are great, but it seems like I can’t schedule with specific people. It doesn’t make sense for me to pay so much extra for a service that I can perform better myself–and with much less stress–at home. Had my first all over color done at this location. Overall good experience, i am happy with the color my stylist suggested. Everything was clean and safe. They gave me disposable mask so I don’t get my own mask dirty with the dye as well as plastic cover for my eye glasses so i can wear them while the dye sets. That was nice touch, i don’t get that at my usual salon in fact.
