May hair came out much warmer than expected. The stylists told me to get a purple conditioner or mask to help. It did not help. Neither did the toner from Sallys.

Critical: QualityI went here to have my roots done for the first time and I left with orange hair (yet still have grey!). While the ladies were very pleasant they did not have the knowledge to fix my hair once they turned it orange. They said they would tone it and it stayed orange and finally they said they were really sorry and wouldn’t charge me. So now I will be spending hundreds of dollars somewhere else to get a color correction done.Service: Hair coloringI went here to have my roots done for the first time and I left with orange hair (yet still have grey!). This place is amazing! I’m so happy I decided to take this opportunity (yelp elite event) to get my hair done. Their color bar is clean and very nice. Amy and Rebecca are both friendly and polite, and they made me feel welcome and comfortable.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! I have (had) dark ashy blonde hair with highlights. My regular stylist moved, so I came here in the interim for all over color just to bring down the highlights to more closely match my natural hair color. The stylist, Lina, spent all of 30 seconds discussing what I wanted, and we agreed on one of their standard dark blonde colors, a level 8 Bologna Blonde. Lina mixed the color, applied it to my hair and then LEFT for the day. I sat there for 45 minutes as the color processed, and no one checked on me once. When the color was finally shampooed out by the shampoo woman, my hair was a horrible shade of reddish-brown! The one remaining stylist had absolutely no idea what to do and made an appointment for me the next morning with the “shift lead” to have it fixed. I arrived the next day (after canceling scheduled plans with friends to deal with this) and was told that, for reasons unknown, when Lina mixed the color the night before, she added a level 6 BROWN to the color I selected. The way to fix it, they said, was to use a treatment to pull some of the color out and then reapply the hair color I wanted. After enduring both of these processes over a period of 1.5 hours, my hair color color was mostly unchanged, except that the redness had turned more of an orange tint, and my scalp and hairline were red, itchy, and irritated. The shift lead had no clue what to do at that point and offered to try a light ashy blonde toner, which I refused in order to avoid further damage to my hair and scalp. I walked out without any resolution. No legitimate salons had last-minute color appointments available on a Sunday, so I am now stuck with orange/brown hair and a rashy, irritated scalp until I can get in to see a real colorist and spend a couple hundred dollars to have this fixed. These people very clearly had no idea what they were doing. Save yourself the trouble and stick with professional salons with qualified colorists.

I was pleasantly enjoying my first experience here, until I saw a mirror. I came as a blonde and left a brunette! When I asked about it, I was told “The lady washing hair must have left the gloss on too long. It’ll be gone in a couple of weeks.”

Really good experience, it sort of depends on who’s working but my second time there was a perfect experience (the first time wasn’t great and I ended up with permanent dye all over my face). But I’ll definitely be back. Hair coloring

Critical: ProfessionalismThe male colorist working on TUE (12/27), would not accommodate my request to be distanced with one chair between me and his client. When I asked to sit at the chair at the end of the bar, He adamantly said, “No. That’s for blow drying.” The station that was next to his client (where he suggested I sit) had a hair dryer. It was unprofessional for him to deny a request such as this with a contagious viral variant amongst us.When my colorist greeted me, she had no problem with me sitting in the “blow dry” chair. She was very nice, quiet. She was sufficient with the job she did coloring my roots. However, I’ve never walked out of a hair color appointment with so much color mess. I had so much pigment in my ears, on my forehead, and hands from trying to keep water out of my ears.I’ve been to MR Color Bar twice. The first time all-over color was really dark but I really liked it once more of the pigment faded. The color Soft Black stayed on my skin a good 2 weeks, despite my scrubbing. The colorist from my first visit didn’t suggest the cleaning solution that today’s colorist directed me to use.Anyway, I ramble. I’m not sure I’ll go a third time.Services: Hair coloring, Gloss or GlazeThe male colorist working on TUE (12/27), would not accommodate my request to be distanced with one chair between me and his client. I want to like this business because I hate coloring my own hair. I was excited to find this place. My first time was great, so I joined the unlimited membership. Since then, my experinece has ranged from mediocre (barely got the gray covered) to bad (wrong color applied). I had an apointment scheduled for today, and it was canceled by the salon because they didn’t have enough staff to cover all the appointments. Three strikes and you’re out! I’m canceling my membership and going across the street to a real salon that knows what they are doing.
