I had my hair dyed a brown color similar to my natural color here. Not only did they make me wait 30 minutes in a chair for my colorist to finally come and help me, I had the worst appointment ever in a salon. As soon as she was washing my dye out of my hair, she told me “wow your hair really sheds!”. I have a lot of hair so I didn’t find this surprising until I got to my chair and started brushing and blow drying my hair. CLUMPS of hair was falling out. I had to get up and find a trash can to throw away my hair because it was THAT bad. I thought it was just one day of losing hair but it took me at least 9 months to a full year of not touching my hair to finally get it healthy again. I was so depressed losing so much hair, I would dread showering because I knew more clumps would fall out. I got my money back from my haircut but please do your research before going here. I’m still dealing with the bad color left on my ends because I am afraid to dye it again and it’s been over a year and a half.

DO NOT VISIT THIS “SALON” it’s only an overpriced wanna be fancy store. AND MOSTLY NEVER EVER ASK FOR HIGHLIGHTS and I would say a color too. The people there aren’t colorist. Most likely minimum wage floor walkers who have zero responsibility and self reflection to say “ sorry Ive never ever done a color. I don’t know the mixology. A salon is not McDonald. If you add more salt nothing much gonna happen. If you mishandles chemicals you “at least” damage hair which takes years to repair. You end up with completely damaged hair, maybe possible health damage, with huge emotional distress.

BLONDES WITH LONG FINE HAIR STAY AWAY. I received highlights and I stupid naive one didn’t control the process. They put bleach all over my hair which caused completely burned hair. I’m not a hairdresser but I know girls always put bleach only on unbleached hair when doing roots. You can’t bleach already bleached. I was already too much blonde from previous highlighting and I wanted just some brown highlights to look more dark. I already consulted it with A LICENSES hairdressers and she said. She shouldn’t have bleached you at all. She was supposed to just do stripes with brown color. No bleach at all. I showed her the same picture I showed at Madison reed ( the picture is from google from their salon) and she said she would bet big money these people never ever been to school . But how was i supposed to know. I can’t do research before I go somewhere. Should I know how drive a plane before vacation?. I will contact an agency to check if they hire licensed people . It’s illegal to provide service without license in Illinois. I wanted to save some money because my salon started charging around $250-300 for service and I paid 165 with tip , with 15 first timer discount for burned hair. I wish I was wiser. I will request my bank for charge back because during self drying almost half of my hair ended up on the brush. I look like a dog who went through a fire

This was my first professional color. When I walked in to book the appointment, I specifically asked if they were use to working with African American hair and what was the process. While the person answering my questions was really just a customer service person who’s aim was to blanketly answer ‘yes’ and quickly mention the products ‘non’ chemical or harsh ingredients, I choose to book the appointment. Well, the color process was not just roots, as the CS suggested, it was through out, which was fine and what I needed. The colorist was great. The shampoo person asked if I had a perm or keratin treatment to which I responded ‘no’. The stylist, professional and courteous, was very gentle and provided a decent blow out and straighten. However, she seem to struggle a bit, just to turn my ends under for just a bit of uniformity. Mentioned they didn’t have a curling iron, just a curling wand and that would be too much. Hmmm..would have been nice to have seen it and had the option to say yes or no. None the less she did get a bit of a bend and it looked fine. I really liked the final look and she then mentioned I was the coiliest hair she had ever worked on. Yikes! No harm done..I did book a follow up, but wow.

I feel like you could do just as good a job buying their hair color and applying it yourself to save money. I told the colorist that I wanted a color totally different from my hair color and I wanted it to pop, but I was undecided on color. So I kind of left it up to them to pick something good for me. I feel like they colored my hair my same color because literally nobody noticed a change. My hair is brown and now there’s a reddish tint to it. Then they sold me a gloss that they said would last 2 applications, but only lasted one. I was to apply it two weeks after my color to make my color pop more. Nobody noticed that either. I appreciated getting my hair colored and leaving the work and mess to someone else, but not sure it was worth $95. The shampoo and conditioner I bought smell really nice.

Stay clear of this place. Jasmine did a root touchup but completely missed my hair color. Turned out red, not allover as she only did my outgrowth so this red is only on 1-2 inches of my roots. I am very disappointed and do not know what to do with this awful color. She tried a toner, but all it did was color my old highlights violet gray! Beware of this place.
