Understand due to Covid there’s staffing shortages. As a roots membership member I would say it’s not worth it. Last time I was in November I was left with hair dye in for an hour as they only had one person to wash it out and they forgot about me so I had to wait 15 minutes longer. The sinks weren’t draining so only one was being used.

This was my first time trying out Madison Reed at Fort Worth. I have mixed emotions about this place, I’ll start off with the good points. The highlight of my experience was the assistant, she was helpful in providing great hair care tips and gave a killer head massage (I don’t remember her name, she was a sweet black lady). Second, the products worked pretty well on my hair; particularly the conditioner that left my hair feeling soft. Drawbacks: the place doesn’t seem to be doing a very good job of following COVID safety guidelines. When I first entered, I was seated right next to another customer even though the entire salon was empty. Second, and most important: the colorist did not do a good job. She gave me very little options to choose from when I asked for a palette of hair colors. It almost appeared as if she was trying to make her job easier. I asked to go lighter and she chose a color that she said will match my current tone but not lighter (I go to get my hair colored frequently so I know a lot more could have worked on my hair). After it was washed off, she had colored it almost pitch black. I asked her about the color and she said it will turn lighter but here I am a month later, with a head full of the darkest hair I have had yet. Overall, disappointed in the results here. EDIT: Madison Reed reached out immediately after my review; updating to 3 stars even if there’s not a remedy for my hair color.

They saved my life! A hair colorist dyed my hair like brown with a green hue to it on Saturday and took 8 hours to do it. I WAS GOING LIVE ON FOX NEWS MONDAY MORNING WHEN I TRIED ALL HIS TRICKS TO FIX, and nothing worked. Went to Madison Reed essentially begging them to take me in at 4:30pm on a SUNDAY when they were fully booked, BUT **ABILENE** from the Fort Worth location took me under her wing and had me looking just like I always did within an hour’s time (not including the time it took to dry my hair, I have long hair and that takes 30+ min alone). All of the colorists at Madison Reed work together and to make sure you get what’s best for you and if that’s not a service they offer on a regular basis (as in my case), they don’t try to sell you to keep you paying for their services: the head colorist listened to my predicament for 15+ min and helped guide me to find the right colorist, which was above and beyond (and she looked out for my best interest, a rare quality these days). Abilene does the same, as does her partner in crime whose name I so wish I knew — Abilene, help us out here when you see this — they think through the intricacies of dealing with complex color repair situations and Abilene delivers, every time. I’ve since recommended Madison Reed to basically every girl I know they regularly gets her hair colored (in other words, every other girl in l greater Dallas!). EXCELLENT LOCATION AND MARISON REED WAS A HUGELY PLEASANT SURPRISE RELATIVE TO THE NIGHTMARE I’M used to when attempting to find a half decent colorist!

They cancelled my appointment by text at the last minute and gave me a 1 800 number to call and reschedule. When I called I explained this to the lady and she just said oh sorry nothing we can do your colorist called in today. Very unprofessional!
