These people refused to dye my 15 year-olds hair after we made an appointment. They never asked for my daughters age and they claimed that she must be 18+ to have her hair dyed. They need to put that on their website if that’s the case, I was even there by her side allowing her to her hair done and they still refused. After we peacefully left. If your child who is a teenager wants to get their hair dyed, DON’T GO HERE.

I was treated insensitively and dismissed after the stylist melted my hair because she left the highlight on too long. The manager blamed my hair and wouldn’t accept any responsibility — instead told me to “calm down” when I became visibly upset at the result.

Went to celebrate my 60th birthday. Instead of blending in my white/gray highlights lighter as I explained – I got 3 shades darker with my white hair kept out. I almost died. I was so shocked I dried my hair and explained to the colorist. She told me they “couldn’t do what I wanted”. So why didn’t they tell me that first!!! Plus they never showed me the color they were going to use. I’ve NEVER had such a bad color. I may need to call out for work. Will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! Calling company tomorrow when they are “open” to complain.

My colorist (Charelle? Charla?) and I discussed the color beforehand. I pointed out exactly what I wanted on the color chart, and she asked, “Well what if we did a little darker?” I said “No. I don’t want it any darker than this color. This color is as dark as I want it to be anywhere.” She said, “Ok, we can do that.” Because there are no mirrors except in front of the hair-drying in the corner, I couldn’t see what she was doing until I was blow drying it out, 2 hours later. When I found my colorist again to check out, she asked how I liked it and I told her, “It’s a lot darker than I wanted.” She replies with, “Yeah, well, you know, because of where we started it’s darker than the picture, the picture is what happens with that dye on bleached blond hair.” No st, sherlock. That’s why I came in to have a professional dye it instead of doing it myself, because I don’t know how to do more than a box dye and I expect my colorist to be able to make my hair be one of the 20 colors advertised. And then, she literally said, “Well, if you hate it, it’ll fade in a few washes anyways, so…” and then pointed to the iPad checkout. I spent the whole hour drive home kicking myself for actually paying money for this.

The cancellation process is horrendous. They don’t answer the phone, the website is useless, if you send an email they say they can’t find your appointment, but then they STILL, after all that, will charge you 50% when you finally are able to cancel. DO NOT GO TO MADISON REED IF YOU WANT TO BLEACH!!! the process was incredibly rushed they didn’t pay attention to my hair at all. The end result was chunky with a mix of grey ashy tones and yellows it looked awful. My hair is permanently damaged and breaking off. I can belache my hair for many years to recover from this damage.
