I didn’t really feel valued. One example: Shaunte allowed day one students to practice on my fully established locs. He told me they were students but he didn’t say they hadn’t had any lessons yet. Maybe it was because he didn’t start my locs so he didn’t care, I don’t know. What I do know is “I’m good” and won’t be returning.

Sadly I give this rating not because of a bad hairdo but because of the unprofessionalism that I was shown towards dsnme over something very silly and taken out of context. Back in December after having had my hair done twice exact same style, accept this time the price was higher than the first time. I asked if I could bring the difference back($20); as I only had exactly what was paid last visit plus tip. It didn’t seem to big a big deal to me. My intentions was to have returned immediately however it was the holidays and and in hate to admit it but time got away from me. A few weeks ago, I called the shop to get another hair appointment, now this is where things went south!! Madam Walker answers and asked “have I done your hair before” I cheerfully responds why yes this is(my name). She starts to reem me for not returning with her money. She went on to say it was dishonest and proceeds to hang up on me? Wow, why would I be callin to return if I were going to cheat you. Nonetheless I immediately jump in my car and head right over to make good on this situation. Upon arrival I find the shop closed, i call and knock at door for 15 minutes I try to get a response. She had earlier told me their was a mailbox on the door but that was not true. . I recultanly head to the front door which was to the entrance to their private home. I decide to leave the money in that mailbox, Of course I’m not comfortable doing so as this mailbox sits outside on the wall of the home. As I begin to pull off I see the front door open, out pops Madam Walkers son. I ask him to please ensure she gets the white envelope which holds an apology note, the $20 owed and a small tip for the young lady who did my hair. The note also ask if a call could be made to confirm receipt of the money. To date no call has been received, I don’t understand how a minor $20 can make someone act so ugly and go so wrong. It truly saddens me, I thought this was going to be the beginning of a wonderful relationship.
