Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueThe women in this salon are outstanding. From complete color makeovers, to simple bang cuts, to formal event styling, I have always been impressed by their work. I have been seen by both Brookes, and two other stylists (I’m so sorry I can’t remember their names) and each time have been listened to for a consultation, and checked in with throughout to make sure I was happy with the progress. I have posted photos from several appointments and you can see the range in their color, cut, and style skills.My most sincere compliments are based on their customer service. I have mental health issues that have caused me to impact my appointment more than once. A huge panic attack and disassociation on my wedding day was handled with dignity, moving me to a private styling room for hair and makeup, given water and the opportunity to have my best friend present. It made a terrible situation into a beautiful day. I also have muscle damage and nerve damage to my neck, shoulder, and collarbone which makes sensation in those areas intolerable and painful. It affects hair washing specifically. I simply remind or inform the stylist when I arrive and every effort is made to keep me comfortable. I support my neck at the hair wash station, I’m given time to position comfortably, when styling by the left of my body they’re extra careful.They have a boutique in the lobby with great jewelry and products for hair and skin, complimentary teas, and an entire aesthetician area for skin and nail care and massages I still haven’t tried. The women in this salon are outstanding. From complete color makeovers, to simple bang cuts, to formal event styling, I have always been impressed by their work. I have been seen by both Brookes, and two other stylists (I’m so sorry I can’t remember their names) and each time have been listened to for a consultation, and checked in with throughout to make sure I was happy with the progress. Critical: Cleanliness, Quality, ValueI went for a cut , roots color and highlights and blow dry. Yes I needed a lot done after over a year of the pandemic but the estimated cost by telephone when deciding on an appointment with this “ salon “ was way above the quoted price by telephone by $160 ! The hair stylist was very nice and chatted along nicely. The cut color and blow dry was average to below average and the color was not quite near what I would have liked . It was kind of a dull light to medium brownish muddy looking color with a few highlights. TBH I didn’t say much of anything other than it looked better than it did before the pandemic which wasn’t saying much . I have gone to hairdressing schools when between work for $20 for a wash , cut and blow dry that was SO much better several times before and other salons that are a quarter of the price I was charged for everything that I had done ! It was almost $300 for this and my friends and family thought I had gone to Supercuts ! This salon is NOWHERE near the quality and service and results that I have received from a hairdressing school , albeit with an experienced teacher watching. They were gouging the customers after having been closed for over a year due to COVID-19 and that’s a terrible thing to pass on THAT much to customers and EXPECTING the customer to rebook after that experience and the front desk staff being pushy about it ! I would NOT recommend this salon at all! I have paid less in Manhattan for the same things done at Msalon .
