I always look forward to my haircut appointments with Zara! She’s an absolute delight to talk to and is an incredible stylist! The improvements in the health / appearance of my hair since beginning my regular appointments with her have been stunning! She’s such a professional and was so knowledgeable in helping me with the direction I wanted to go with my hair. It’s such a lovely space to get your hair done, I can’t recommend enough!

I’ve only been here once so far, but I can say my experience was positive! My stylist was Daisy who rocked it with her cool, warm friendly demeanor and vibe. She did a good job cutting my hair, which is saying something! Not just anyone can cut my hair correctly, due to it’s gnarly waves and curls. The overall ambiance here was quite nice, if I do say so myself.

I recently had her do a blonding service on me to prep my hair for my wedding & HOLY COW, IT IS STUNNING! The salon is comfortable, cute & intimate. I cannot recommend them enough!

Amazing little boutique salon in the heart of truckee. I live in San Francisco, but with covid, I haven’t been able to see my regular stylist. I was visiting Truckee for the week and decided to see Alana at Lumiere for a cut and highlight and am SO happy I did. She listened to what I was looking for and did a fab job bringing it to life. Couldn’t recommend her or her studio more. I’ll definitely be back again!

I cut about 8 inches off and got a balayage with a root tap and Olaplex treatment. My hair has never felt this soft before! The balayage is very well blended and she said I will not need to redo it for at least 6 months. Sarah was very knowledgeable about the blonding process and educated me about safe shampoo and conditioner to use on my hair. Also, the salon was extremely clean. Sarah sanitizes all of her tools and sanitizes the sink between each client. Sarah and I both wore masks the entire time. Lumiere Studio also has clients wait in their car before their appointment so people aren’t around each other in a crowded waiting area. I moved to Truckee from San Francisco and was worried about finding someone who could do a great job on my hair. I adored my old stylist, but traveling back to the city to do my hair was not an option with my intense work schedule. So, I did my research by asking a few longtime locals and scouring reviews, and decided to try Alana at Lumiere. I feel like I hit the hair jackpot! Alana is so incredibly talented and gets my highlights just right, especially on my stubborn-to-highlight hair. She really listened to my needs and made sure they were respected. And, she’s a lovely person – easy to talk to and so knowledgeable. It’s clear that owning a salon and being a stylist are not just a job for her, it’s a calling. It’s inspiring to hear Alana say that knew she always wanted to this since she was a kid and it shows in the level of care and detail she puts into her work, and the salon itself which is like a beautiful little oasis.
