Lou & Co Hair Studio has been serving the Lawrence, KS area since 2010. We specialize in Aveda haircuts, dimensional hair color, balayage, extensions and special occasion styling. Opened by owner Jennifer Dayo with a vision to create a “Fashion Forward” Salon with a warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere. We want our guests to feel the difference the moment they cross the threshold as team members greet you with a smile and demonstrate that it is a privilege to have the opportunity to serve you. We believe teamwork is a collective effort supporting individual strengths while achieving team goals.

I scheduled an half up/half down do with a botanical conditioning for my daughters birthday. They were aware of her curly hair prior to the visit. Needless to say, the stylist had no idea how to do her hair. She was frustrated and rolled her eyes many times because she had no idea how to do it. She skipped the botanical treatment as well-I guess she didn’t want to do it. At this point, I thought I could try to fix it but it was so far gone. She had to re-wash/style her hair. I sent a message and they said come back later that afternoon, but we were unable to do that because of the birthday festivities. I asked for a full refund but no one ever responded! I sent multiple messages but apparently they don’t care about customer satisfaction. Do yourself a favor-Go somewhere else!!

My daughter received the WORST haircut that I have ever seen done by a license stylist!!!She specifically asked Melissa for a trim no more than 2 inches off and no bangs!!! When she left she did not know how to handle the situation that had taken play. She left so upset as 7 inches were taken off and the sides of her hair were chopped so horribly uneven, it looked like a horrible attempt of bangs!! When I tried to talk to the owner she would not return my phone call and after calling twice I found out the stylist was new! No information at all was provided of this to my daughter when she scheduled the appointment!!! As a business owner you would think she would want to address her inexperienced stylist to provide a training opportunity and apologize for putting a young college girl through the emotional turmoil she went through, but nothing at all!!! We had to take her to a REPUTABLE salon and they spent over an hour fixing her hair!!!it is horrible that they would do this to a young college girl!! College kids are going through enough as it is to have this undue stress happen!! We do not recommend this place by any means!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND VERY UNCARING!!!!! Notice the left side? The back was no better. It looked like a child cut it!!!

I had my first haircut in 9 months with Tori this week, and she did a phenomenal job! I have a very particular way I like my hair to be cut and I told her the length and gave her a reference photo and she hit it spot on. I’ll definitely be returning! If you have curly hair and you want bangs with short hair, go here! I’m sure that all of the stylists and designers are fantastic as they were all very kind and I could tell they were taking their time and listening to their clients around me, but I strongly recommend Tori!

I am very picky when it comes to my hair so when I finally after 3 years of no hair attention went into Lou and Co I was hesitant, nervous and a mess! My initial appointment was with the beautiful Miss Macy but I later transitioned to Miss Cara. Cara is the sweetest stylist I’ve met yet! She is very personable while keeping it very professional. She cares about my comfort and has bent over backwards to make me happy. I had an emergency situation and she went out of her way to squeeze me in last minute which I did not expect. I will and have recommended this salon to everyone I know. I couldn’t be more happy that I finally found a salon that I can keep. My hair thanks them too!

Cannot say enough about Lou & Co – how they made seven of us – including the bride – look beautiful for my daughter’s wedding. Won’t name names but the team of three Lou sent us to do hair and makeup were fabulous – conscientious, friendly, patient – really put forth their best efforts. I had my hair done by Mark. I called a few days before to make sure he could do what I wanted. When I got there he said he could do it. My hair ended up looking nowhere near what I wanted.. he even messed up applying the color. And then he didn’t go all the way to my roots so there’s a 1 inch line down my part. When drying he didn’t use heat protectant and then when curing black smoke was billowing off my hair. I literally ran home and showered to get the burnt hair smell away because it was so awful. I hate my hair. I should have spoken up at the salon but I’m still new to hair color. I’m going to KC to pay quadruple the amount Mark ruined my hair to fix it by a specialist. I’m never coming here to get my hair dyed again.
