Have brought my Granddaughter to L.I. Glamour several times for my Daughter and each time experienced: lack of basic courtesy, long wait times and very dismissive attitudes by the both the Receptionist and the Braiders. I’m big on Customer service (was a Customer Service Manager at a NY publishing company for many years) and I rarely complain. The Owner is wonderful but her staff doesn’t convey her same business acumen: courtesy towards paying customers. Be prepared for long wait times even with an appointment.

Very unprofessional. I called weeks prior and booking appointment for my daughter to get eight cornrows, during this phone call I was told the name of the lady who would be doing my daughters hair. When we got to the salon I was given a name of a different girl who I was told was not used to doing cornrows. I was also told a different price in person when I was over the phone. I would NEVER recommend this “salon” to anyone.

My daughter and I have been going to Ashley for a number of years. I have never ever had a bad experience with this shop, and I am very picky about my hair. First of all, I work in a professional environment and I have to make sure my hair looks nice at all times. Ashley has always had time to accommodate my busy schedule. The shop is beautiful and truly a relaxing environment. There is always coffee and nice music. It is very clean and stylish. She does not ask you to thread needles. I never wait too long, even if I walk in. I got my hair colored for the first time after several consultations (because I was nervous). Ashley took the time patiently to consult with me each time. I love it. I also love that Ashley has reasonably priced hair, but does not pressure you into buying it. She takes good care of your hair and your extensions. I can not rave more about her and I am proud to support a young woman entrepreneur like herself!

One star is more than they deserve. It is apparent that they aren’t skilled at doing natural hair. I have 4a hair and I came in for a wash and perm rod set. I was told many times by the stylist that I don’t have good hair and a twist out would be best. After disagreeing with her she put in the rods wrong. They were going in all directions. My hair is not thick and yet after sitting in the dryer for an hour she put me back under for another hour because she was working on some else’s hair. Afterwards she took my hair out of the rods and complained once again that I had a bad hair texture and no curl pattern. She began yanking the curls apart which resulted in a very frizzy unfinished hair look. I expressed my dislike and she kept insisting that’s what my hair would always look like when perm rodding it. The other customers and some of the stylist facial expressions indicated that they agreed the hair was terrible. This isn’t my first time there last time the same stylist/receptionist dyed my hair (or should I say overbleached) which later resulted in my hair breaking once my hair started growing out. Why did I let her touch my hair again? I forgot her face it was a couple of years ago and once I notice it was her it was already too late. I thought a wash and set is the easiest thing to do in a salon apparently not. My little brother had to fix my hair. I have half a mind to go back and show her how it is supposed to look. Please don’t go there you will regret it.

Got a weave the first time and it was good but went back and they tried to charge me extra for the service they first provided for free! Lady cut my hair and didn’t say anything, had to go to another salon to find out, barely washed it- was still dirty when I got home, I didn’t even get the braids I wanted done! This a very nice Hair Salon Ashely and Patricia ate the most pleasant people who I came across in this type of business. They are very caring and not over price at all. My hair style always look good . And they hands are growing hands. Which means if you have hair need to be treated this this place.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueThis by far has been the worst hair I have purchased. I came in and asked for 2 20” bundles to be custom colored, I of course had to pay prior to picking up the hair . When I came back to pick up the hair it looked like 16”, very short . I asked why it looked so short, dry and shedding , as that’s not how the hair felt when chose the body wave .The woman said I told her one 18” and 1 20”, and the reason the hair was shedding when I ran my hands through the hair , was because it needed to have “oil “ or conditioner put in it after dying . I figured if you’re customizing you don’t half’ do the job. I said that didn’t make sense and I didn’t want it has it looked horrible and dry. She said I had to take it . I took the hair to my hair dresser and couldn’t use it as not only was it too short as we measured and it was indeed 16”’s, but extremely too thin. I had to purchase more hair and didn’t even use this , the shedding and thinning was too bad .
