London Calling Salon™️ opened in 1986 and was the Only Place in Town to get Pink, Purple, Blue or Green Hair as no other salon would do it. We also had to mix our own ‘Fashion Hair Colors’ because they were not sold (that became our ‘house brand” LONDON CALLING Ltd.® Hair Color. We specialize in; Changing Shape & Color in Hair™️ We also do waxing including: Bikini & Brazilian – face, legs, men’s backs etc. (body waxing) Open late (till 11p.m. Tuesday thru Friday) and open Saturdays 9 – 6 & Sundays 11 – 5. We’re in the Purple House with Silver Glitter on Gratiot – just north of 11 mile. Easy access off I-696 and I-94. Our spacious & well lit parking & entrance is in the back of the building. Appointments are recommended.

‘Fashion Colors’ (exotic hair color)
“Fashion Hair Color” is a vegetable dye that can be any & every color of the rainbow – including many that don’t appear in a rainbow!!! Prior to the vegetable dye application your hair will require de-colorization of your natural hair color. This de-colorization or lightening can be on your entire head, in an area/s such as highlights etc. Because of the myriad of variables pricing is difficult without seeing you to determine exactly what you require but the “Fashion Coloring” starts at $60 – without the de-colorization – which is an additional service. You may ask your stylist during the free consultation about cost.

Conditioning Treatment/s

Corrective Color
Corrective Hair Color
As it reads; “Corrective”. This can be hair that has been colored at home or at another salon with tint or dye where it is too dark, uneven or a ‘wrong color’ where it needs to be “corrected” to a color that is more appropriate etc. It could be – previously tinted hair where you ‘just want to add highlights’ but because of the previous tint it becomes difficult to remove the tint & lighten your hair. (usually ‘home tint’ is difficult to lighten) “Corrective Hair Coloring” MAY REQUIRE MORE THAN ONE VISIT to achieve your desired hair color but – may also be achieved the first visit. Your stylist will need to see (and touch) your hair to determine what will be required and how to move forward. Pricing for “Corrective Hair Color” starts at $150 and again, “Corrective Hair Coloring” MAY REQUIRE MORE THAN ONE VISIT to achieve your desired hair color. You may ask your stylist during the free consultation about cost. NOTE – ANY INITIAL QUOTED PRICE OF A ‘CORRECTIVE COLOR’ MAY INCREASE.
Creative Styling
Up Do creative styling is $70 and up. Blow Dry Style is $35 to $45. Curl & Style with irons or rollers is $35 – $60. Braiding is $40 and up. — any “and up” pricing is based on length, texture, specific style etc. You may ask your stylist during the free consultation about cost.
De-Colorize (bleach up)
De-Colorizing is performed when you are wanting your hair to be considerably lighter (at least 4 or more levels lighter) a toner is usually applied afterward. OR – when you are wanting a ‘Fashion Color’ (pink, purple, blue, green etc.) applied. The bleach-up starts at $100 & up – depending on length, texture etc. and does not include the ‘Fashion Color’ application but does include a toner (if necessary.

Extension services REQUIRE A CONSULTION PRIOR TO BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT. We do not charge for consultations! The consultation will determine the cost and will allow the stylist to determine the technique etc. Extension pricing is; 1/2 head – $300 and up —- 3/4 head $450 and up —- Whole Head $600 and up. NOTE – prices DO NOT include hair. A consultation is required prior to your service! You may ask your stylist during the free consultation about cost.

Highlights & Lowlights can be a full head or a partial head (top, front etc.). Highlights & Lowlights require approximately the same amount of time and can be done together. Multi Dimentional Hair Color
This describes when Highlights along with a ‘solid’ hair color is applied in between the foils. Such as; highlights and then a color is applied to cover grey hair or to create a darker new growth (root) area. This starts at $120 and up and depends on length, texture etc. You may ask your stylist during the free consultation about cost.
Ombre – Balayage
Both of these hair highlighting terms & techniques can sometimes be used inter-changeably and are also misinterpreted at times as well. During your consultation your stylist will determine the technique required to achieve your desired hair color based on your hair, any pictures and what is determined during the consultation. Pricing for this service starts at $100 and up. You may ask your stylist during the free consultation about cost.

Private Service Room
Our “Private Service Room” has a separate entrance, totally private space, two stylist chairs, a shampoo bowl , dispensory etc. A completely separate private salon (within our salon). It’s used for individuals that want to have salon services without any chance of having a picture taken while having color applied etc. That may include entertainers, musicians, actors/actresses… We also use this room for women of Muslim faith that cannot chance that a man may see them without their hijab. In this case we do not charge a Private Service Room fee. Please let the receptionist know (when booking your appointment) that this is the reason for your need to use this room. It’s also been requested by individuals who are ‘transitioning’ and are wanting an area where no one else will look at them, talk to or ask questions. A private entrance and exit is quite discreet!!!		$100.00

Toning (alone)
We do apply toners to previously lightened hair to achieve the ‘tone’ that you desire. Toners normally last between 3 and 6 weeks before fading. Toners are not permanent and are a bit more of a ‘delicate’ hair color that does fade. Toning alone starts at $35 and up and depends on length, texture etc. Toners are generally included with the initial de-colorizing (bleach up or highlight) done at London Calling. You may ask your stylist during the free consultation about cost for toning alone.

My cousin went in here to get her hair done yesterday by Nikki, thinking she was going to come out looking beautiful with her blonde hair that she asked for along with a layered cut. Instead she got blotchy, yellow & orange patches all over her hair with a straight across cut! Everything she didn’t want done was done. Fast forward to the next day, she called the salon to get her money back because who would want them to touch their hair again after the first mess up??? The RUDE manager gets on the phone & is EXTREMELY unprofessional about his employees work. After handling the situation so rudely, He ended up giving a refund but not the full refund, he decided to keep $45 of my cousins money because she “didn’t give them a chance to fix it” sounds pretty petty to me & there is NOWHERE that states they don’t do refunds! I would recommend not going to this place at all & taking the risk to have this happen to you as well. My family & I will NEVER be returning to London calling.
