I found out about Yannie the same way most people have via YouTube. I had been trying to get help from her since 2017. I was told I needed to wait a year before I could see her. I waited, allowing my hair to lock on its own, and followed up after a year. It took me some time to reach her. I tried emailing and leaving voicemails on the Google voice number she provided to the public. When I finally reached her, she was unnecessarily rude to me. Ever since then I take care of my own hair, as this isn’t the first rude encounter I’ve had with hairstylists. At this point I’m traumatized by hairstylists and locticians. I honestly wish she had just said she was no longer taking new clients. It’s one thing to be overwhelmed. It’s another thing to take your frustrations out on someone else because you’re overwhelmed. You have to expect the influx of customers once you advertise your services on YouTube and social media. Thanks for the hair care tips on your website I guess.

I first heard about her on YouTube. I decided to take a chance and call for an appointment. She called back, asked several questions, and the appointment was eventually made.

I have not officially had an appointment with Yannie but her website has proved to be the faithful factor of why my children’s locs and mine continue to flourish. The website tells you exactly what products to use, the products not to use, and when to use them. It has really helped us on this disrespectful journey! ❤

This lady is very unprofessional. I have been calling her salon and emailing to schedule an appointment at her NJ salon since FEBRUARY and she has yet to answer my call or reply to my email. I’m from NYC and if I’m able to schedule an appointment at Ted Gibson salon, there’s no reason i shouldn’t be able to with Yannie. IMPROVE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE, YANNIE!!!

If you call yourself “the only locologist” you should be able to work on all types of hair and length. On her voicemail, she says “i only work on hair that has been loc for 1 year” since im 3 months in, i guess i have to wait 9 more months before she can work on my hair. In plus, no matter how much i call and leave messages, she never bother returning the calls.

When I called this place the [lmfao@] “locolgist” was super ghetto and unprofessional. She made reference to all the things she can’t or won’t do including as she describes “Shenequa type hair styles.” Poor thing.

If you are planning on going to this place….TURN AROUND AND GO ANOTHER WAY!! They are not professional, promise keeping or dependable. I was referred to this loctician by another person prior to relocating to Delaware. I made an appointment to have a loc-re-attachment, to which we made the appointment on a Sunday when the shop is usually closed. The loctician re-assured me several times that Sunday would be the best day. WELP…I drove 125.8 miles from Delaware to Irvington, NJ, only to get there and she NEVER SHOWED UP OR CALLED to re-schedule. I was Livid! How unprofessional and ghetto…smh. So please do not go to this place, they are not what they say they are. Untrust worthy, un-reliable, and certainly not a place for hard working people to spend their hard earned money.
