I really had high hopes for this place. When I initially looked them up, they had pretty good reviews. But my experience was less than expected. The owner and the loctitian that did my hair were very sweet and lovable, but the professionalism was worse than my first loctitian experience. This was my second time getting sisterlocs. My loctitian was on her phone throughout my 2 day installation, she scheduled retightenings in between my time, and I have less locs than I initially had. I reached out to the owner to see if she could start caring for my locs instead of the person who installed them, but she failed to follow through with communication. My hair, my money, and my time are valuable to me and I don’t feel that they valued this. This is my experience, it may not be yours, but beware, they may be too busy to give you what you are looking for. I wish this resulted differently and I’m sorry for having to post this review, but I was left with no other option after the lack of communication to resolve this issue.

I have been a client for more than 10 years. Ashlee does a great job and has been trained very well. The shop is clean and she is accommodating. She is also busy you may be service by a different person but it’s definitely worth checking it out. You get what you pay for, here you pay for consistent experience.

Suppose to have gotten Sister Locs…. Entirely different hair style. Carefully observe and ask questions. Scandalous locticians. Note: They will ask professionally to make the situation better, unfortunately the service WILL STILL STUCK. GOOD LUCK! Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityMy initial experience and install appointment and encounters were uneventful and I was satisfied with the service. Unfortunately I had the unpleasant experience of having my scheduled appointment changed 3 times (7:30am, 11:30 & noon) on the day of because the stylist chose to finish a new install second day appointment at my previously scheduled time. I tried to be flexible and understanding so I accepted all three time changes and waited at the final agreed upon time for 40 minutes while she continued to finish the other client before I finally decided to leave and find another option for styling my hair for the wedding that I was in the following day. I received a text 1 hr 55 minutes after my final scheduled time of noon informing me that she was done and I could come back if I wanted to. I have never received such inconsiderate service and I totally felt unvalued as a loyal newer sister loc client (May 2021) to have my appointment moved so many times for a brand new client. My experience with Locks 4 Life has always been positive and professional. Scheduling is always problem free with consideration of my time (arriving/ departing). The shop is clean in addition to providing options of tea, coffee or water with creamer and sugar. The environment is very friendly and laid back, which is just what is needed before or after a hectic day/evening. Questions are answered and explained throughly, with recommendations on keeping your locks healthy. This is NOT a full service shop (wash, cut or style), you must have clean locks for retightening services (This is not a deal breaker for me). This was explained on my first visit and reiterated after it slipped my mind, due to so much information being provided during my first visit. However, it never seemed like a bother for information to be repeated. The professionalism is what will keep me as a patron.

Very disappointed as my last 3 appointments scheduled at 730am the stylist was almost 30 minutes late each time. Then I was told that she did not have availability to schedule me for my next retightening appointment and advised she would check the other stylist schedule and get back to me.
