I’m pretty particular about massage therapists, so I was really happy to find Mija. She has “presence” in her hands, which you can feel the moment she shakes your hand for the first time. And she’s emotionally present too. Some massage therapists literally just go through the motions, doing the “recipe” they learned in massage school. Not so with Mija. In my very first session with her, she told me that she sees the massage as a collaboration between herself and the client — that we’re working together on the tight muscles, etc. Many of her techniques include her working on specific points until they release — which means you, as the client, have to listen closely to your body too. Mija has a gift, and I’m glad she’s sharing it with us.
