My stylist is Dani and she is truly skilled and talented. Kuddos to her. I have grey hair and after a perm it turns fifty shades of purple. She knew how to bring the vibrant white back to my hair effortlessly. That is the true test to a professional. Plus she was pleasant and personable. My style made her IG page which was very flattering for a first time client. It will not be my last. Love Like The River Salon!

This was my second visit and I love it. I am a firm believer that you pay for what you get. My appointment was 930 and I was out by noon to include coloring, deep conditioning and styling. All ladies from receptionist to Stylist were very professional. My Stylist is Gina and she is no joke with the hair. I am a quiet customer but very observant. No gossip but tips on restaurants to nail salons. I am trying desperately to get my girlfriend to visit because I like what I see (young black business woman trying to do it the right way).

I traveled from out of town. Of course I could not get in with Najah but was highly recommended to book with another stylist. My hair was natural and I decided to get a perm. My hair was in bad shape and I knew that going in. I do not expect miracles but after dropping $200+ for my service, you would think I would get a follow up on how I was maintaining my hair. I never received any follow up from my stylist. My hair has thinned out alot and I knew that going in. I feel the professionalism with the follow up after service should be a priority. It seems like it’s just about the money and if they see you again great, if not, oh well. My suggestion would be to follow up with your clients. There are a lot of great stylist out there but I choose to do business with you. I think common courtesy and follow up with your clients is a must, especially if they are new clients.

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI have been intending to find the perfect salon upon relocation to Atlanta and bicoastal travel from California. Even though the booking was a bit of a challenge, its totally understandable with the salon environment which has policies as strict as medial facilities even. I appreciate the positive professionalism, top quality health preparations and the consultation that was about education + desired style goals. My stylist is Totti and she handles my natural hair very professionally. My hair is healthier and I always have a great time jiving with the whole staff. Critical: ValueI have Been visiting Like The River Salon on and off for the last 13 years. My stylist has always been Najah and she has always slayed my hair. Got married recently and had Najah was my hairstylist, it was beautiful. My issue with the salon is that they barely smile at you. When I walked in the salon it felt Uninviting, she barely speak much to you and you have to wonder if she’s actually mad you’re sitting in her chair or in her salon. My bill was $145 for partial relaxer and I ended up spending almost $170 including tip. I have to ask myself if she was upset with me because I didn’t do a consult before, but why should I do a consult when I have been visiting the salon and Covid would only allow so much that people can do. I called back recently to book an appointment and the excuse is that she is shuffling her schedule and does not an have availability for the rest of this year. My assumption is that she no longer wants my business. If a customer for 13 years wishes to come back to support your business, that should be a good thing to any business. Talk about supporting Black owned businesses. Mind you, I am not saying they don’t do a great job with your hair. Today was my first visit with Like The River and my stylist, Gina, was EVERYTHING! The customer service as soon as you walk in was outstanding. I was greeted by name and appointment time. I was a little early but didn’t wait long before being shampooed and then having a brief consult about my hair. Originally, I was scheduled for a wash, press, and trim but I’ve been natural for five years and haven’t had my ends clipped in almost a year. Gina educated me on the importance of keeping my hair moisturized and suggested a steam treatment which I loved because my curls were so defined and my hair felt healthier afterwards. Overall five stars and I will be back because I couldn’t stop admiring my hair in the mirror before she was finished curling it. I knew then that I found a new home for my hair care. Thank you Gina!

I had a consultation appointment and then an actual appointment with my stylist Najah and I loved both experiences! She was very sweet and made sure to give me what I wanted. I cut my hair off due to damage from stress and she was just very kind through the entire process. Dani gave me a partial relaxer, washed, and molded me she is always so sweet which is why I have an appointment for a shampoo and style with her soon! I’m so excited to have found this gem!

I researched this salon for months because I needed to make a decision about transitioning from relaxed hair to natural. My intent was to go to the owner for my initial appointment, but for some reason I ended up with a consultation with Christina Michelle. First, the receptionist was professional and my service with Christina was AMAZING! She gave me the PERFECT taper cut to help me transition to natural hair. Thank you for restoring my hair confidence, Christina. I ended up with the perfect stylist who met my hair needs. Thank God!
