John is great. I live in the apartments above this shop and while I usually go to a barber I decided to get a hair cut here because of the proximity to my front door. The cut and grooming education was fantastic. My conversation with John about Milwaukee history and politics topped any barbershop I’ve frequented (which is why I like going to a barber).

The female hair stylist francine is aweful! I went there two times. The first time i went there to get my hair color fixed. She did okay but charged me about $150. I would have the same results cheaper in a different hair salon. The worse is when Francine washed my hair she hit my head with the metal heavy waterhose (dont know this thing) like 50’times. I have never experienced something like that. Hitting my head while rinsing my hair. I had a huge headache. Im never go back there. Im was there and Im real! She hit my head with the hand wash multiple times! If anyone has any questions sent me a direct message!

The reason I’m giving such a harsh review is because I was here 5 hours trying to work with one of the hair stylists to get an ombre hair dye. Before I scheduled an appointment I walked in and asked if they knew how to do an ombre hair dye. The stylist said yes of course, so I made an appointment. If I had know that they had little to no experience I would have tried another salon. When I went in for the appointment I brought several pictures of what I was thinking for an ombre hair dye. After the first round of hair dye my hair looked as if it were all the same color. I told the stylist this, and he said that the toner would wash out. I don’t know much about hair dye, but I knew that if it washed out it would be too subtle to be called ombre. I told the stylist that I would like the ends to be lighter and fade gradually into the roots. When he began to redye my hair he began to apply a lighter hair dye extremely close to the roots of my hair. I tried to restate that I only wanted the ends to be more blond, but he didn’t listen to what I had to say. After the second hair dye process it looked as if I had dyed my hair and let the roots grow out for a couple of months. I told this to the stylist and he said that he adding more brown hair dye could help. At this point I gave up on the ombre look and wanted my hair to just look moderately okay. So the stylist dyed it a third time, and it turned out okay. I had my appointment at 9 am in the morning and I didn’t get out of there until around 2 pm.
