I went to this place day of prom to get my hair done. When I was leaving, I paid up front and this old man served me. He gave me the amount I had to pay, and I gave him my card. Then he gave me the receipt. I wanted to give a tip to the lady who did my curls as common courtesy on my card. He was like “WHY DIDNT U SAY THAT BEFORE?!” (Exact words too). Like there was other people their I didn’t want to ruin my mood. I never get my hair done in Hillsborough because nyc salons are my go to and this was my first time here. Very unprofessional and rude attitude of that old man. I still tipped the lady through my card because I don’t have cash that day. But after this experience, I WILL NEVER COME BACK! Like completely unnecessary comment made to me during day of prom. Was suppose to be a fun experience, but he made my day in a undesirable way.

I got my makeup done for a family event. I asked for natural makeup. Came out with orange tones, many shades darker than my skin, and purple lipstick. Wiggly eyeliner lines too. The woman wouldn’t let me look in the mirror once during the application so I didn’t know what it would look like until it was too late. We just got our pictures back and I stand out in every one with my orange face. Totally ruined the family pictures. They also charged me $20 more than they quoted me over the phone.

I wont mention my stylists name because then it will be impossible to get an appointment. Amani Beach
First, the guy that’s there, rude. I make an appointment with him and he tells me one day and then scheduled me for a different day. Then the woman cut my hair, just a trim, took 20 minutes and he charged me 50 bucks, which a trim should never be 50 bucks. Let me mention that I was standing up at the front desk right in front of him for about three full minutes while he was just on his phone. Rude.

The salon is nice, however it surprised me that they doesn’t accept tips with card. You always have to bring cash with you to tip your hairdresser. This is the first hair salon where this happened to me. Their answer was that I should not forget the cash next time. A lot of people dont carry cash anymore so an update of the system would be good.
