My daughter and I started coming here – both to the 14th street location and now the newly opened Georgetown location – when Debbie Harper’s closed in our neighborhood (RIP). I’ve tried a few other salons closer to my neighborhood but this has been my favorite so far. A much nicer facility than DC Nail Salon and so far I think the quality of work is better. I get a gel manicure and occasionally at other salons the gel would start sloughing off within a day or two because the technicians aren’t always experienced but I have not had that issue here. Every technician I have worked with so far has been so nice. I habitually bite my nails and I have bad nail beds and they have given some really good advice about how to improve the quality of my nails. I also think their pedicure service is very good and high-quality. I can’t comment on the other services since I haven’t had them yet. I would recommend you give either location a try if you’re looking for a salon.

lash lift was great – clinician recommended tint – which I did not think I needed since my hair is pitch black – no noticeable difference, likely will not get a tint next time. Went in for brow lamination – was recommended to do henna brow – at first I thought they used the wrong color, it looked light brown/red (my hair is black) a couple of days later no color at all – just red bumps/rash – still present a week later. Was hoping to try micro blading but this experience has me questioning the techniques/skills & if I would be happy with the results

My relationship with this salon started with microshading that led to facials at the Hyattsville location and Lucy is amazing. Lucy was the first esthetician to recognize that my skin was on the sensitive side, that I needed to be extremely gentle, and taught me to ‘feed my face’ by using honey as a morning mask/cleanser in place of products that just end up stripping moisture. Lucy SEES her clients, which is not especially common in this industry.

Will not return. I went for a brow tint and lamination and was charged extra for standard brow cleaning procedures. The eyebrows came out blocky even after the cleaning, scaling out and lamination. I told the technician I wanted it more rounded and she seemed confused that I did not want blocky jet black brows. I was just let go with no real aftercare. I had to use makeup and other products to “clean up” my brows days later. I was hoping to have added a new regular service to my care but this has thrown me off the full experience.
