Laurel James, originally from Meridian, MS, and moved to Bartlett, TN at the age of fourteen. Since then she has been an active part of her community, studying cosmetology for four years at Bartlett High School and graduating from the acclaimed Plaza Beauty School in 2001. In 2006 she opened her own business, Laurel James Hair Elements. Laurel’s desire to be a hair stylist ignited when she was a little girl and has been a motivating force into what Laurel sees as a God-given, God-driven calling to use her talents, passion and creativity to take care of her customers inside and out and to be an active, generous, vital part of the Bartlett community.

Laurel James is so awesome! She is professional and attentive to her clients needs. I have long fine straight hair that takes time and patience to cut many layers to acheive the look I was wanting. Laurel went above and beyond to ensure I was pleased with the cut. Many times stylists make you feel rushed and that was definitely not the case with Laurel James she took her time and I am so glad I found her salon. Being a military spouse having to move around it is hard to find someone you trust with your hair! But I did! I won’t go anywhere else while here in memphis!
