Critical: ProfessionalismI came into Lamour Nails tonight with my two daughters for two acrylic fill-ins and one kid’s manicure, our second visit to this location. We arrived a little after 5:40, and the place was busy when we got in. We were told to wash our hands and have a seat in three different chairs. My youngest daughter and I sat next to each other, and my oldest was three tables down. My oldest was the first to have a nail tech sit down to get her fill-in. We waited about 10 minutes for another available tech. She began asking my eight year old daughter what color of polish she wanted, but I let her know I wanted to go first since a fill-in would take longer. She repeated the question to my daughter, so I assumed she didn’t hear me because of the mask, so I repeated myself. She began walking around the desk to the gel polish area and asked again what color my daughter wanted. Frustrated, but not wanting to cause a ruckus, I told her the first number of polish and tried to tell her the second, twice, as she was walking away, but she was not acknowledging I was still speaking. When she got to the rack, she yelled through the salon asking for the number of the second color. I do not like to yell, so again, I was a little put off about yelling through the studio, but answered her back by doing so. She proceeded to complete my daughter’s manicure as I waited for the next available tech…who ended up being her who finished first, and at this point I’ve been waiting for about 35 minutes. She asked me to switch seats with my daughter, so I sat down and showed her a picture of how I’d like my nails, nude coffin with a yellow ombré tip. When she saw the picture, she expressed she couldn’t do ombré, so I said that we could just do a yellow tip instead. At this point, she tells me that actually another tech was just finishing up and he could do them for me. The tech was still finishing up a pedicure, and knowing I still had to make dinner for my girls, check homework, and do bedtime stuff, I didn’t want to wait any longer than I already had, so I just asked if she could do my nails, even with no design. She told me he was just finishing up and could do them in a minute. I tried asking again, but she wanted me to move to his table. I moved to his table, but he still wasn’t quite ready, and because I’d waited so long and was frustrated by the whole situation already, I decided I did not want to give any more business to them. I told them that I no longer wanted to get my nails done and moved over to the waiting area. The lady who did the manicure for my youngest daughter had moved on to starting a pedicure for a client who had come much later than I had, but came to me nearly 10 minutes after to apologize and ask if she could do my nails. At that point, I did not want to wait any longer and refused to allow her to do my nails. She asked a couple more times, and I was just feeling really embarrassed about the whole situation. I just wanted to leave but had to wait for my oldest to finish up. I was extremely disappointed by my experience. As most busy mom’s, especially ones doing it on their own, my free time is limited, and trying to find more time this week to actually have my nails done is even more frustrating. Just overall a very unpleasant experience for me.:(I came into Lamour Nails tonight with my two daughters for two acrylic fill-ins and one kid’s manicure, our second visit to this location.
