I’ve been looking for a clean, reliable nail salon nearby-ish for a while, and this one had the best reviews. After first visiting late February and again about a week ago, I see why. I initially wanted a matte black stiletto because I was burned on other shapes in the past, but the tech convinced me to get ballerina/coffin. Let me say, they’re perfect. She took her time carefully shaping each one, so they’re v flattering to my finger shape and length, and just thin enough to be delicate but strong enough to withstand my job (I work with my hands). The matte didn’t set properly and bubbled/peeled a little, so I called a few hours later to get them fixed the next day. Unfortunately, I got swamped at work and was unable to go to get them fixed until a whole week later. Still, they fit me in and even did a polish change, free of charge (and refused to let me tip them!), and while I was getting them fixed, other people came in and they knew names and details and seemed to have real relationships with their regulars. That’s a sign of a good neighborhood business.

Cannot believe this place is rated so highly. Giving the place as high as 2 stars only because it was one of the cheapest nail services I’ve had in recent times and my pedicure was good. The dip powder service on my nails, however, was very, very bad. If you aren’t skilled in a service, you should not offer it — and that’s what I would recommend to the owners of this establishment. Not only are my cuticles painted over on some nails, but missing polish at the bottom on others (which is truly just part of any nail service, so that’s an elementary mistake), but I have lines in some nails where the dip was uneven. The nail tech didn’t even use a drill to even out the dip at the end as I’ve seen every nail tech do that I’ve had service me. They also subjected my nails to extremely long exposure to acetone in a full bowl rather than doing individual wraps with the cotton ball and foil/glove as is common practice. The timing of the service was also completely off, as they didn’t allow me to choose colors beforehand, but instead did my pedicure and had me soaking my nails first, so that I couldn’t choose a color palette till after the pedicure was over, meaning that my toes had to be painted after my nail service, leaving my toenails wet at the end. Thank goodness I brought slip-ons or I would have been there another 20 min or so. To add insult to injury, the nail tech kept suggesting I get gel instead of dip as it is “better for my nails”…when truthfully what would have been better for my nails was visiting a salon that knew what it was doing.
