Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI had a cut from Tracy October 2, 2020. Soon after, I left the North for warmer climes. It is now December 21 and I have the same hair cut – it has grown out beautifully – I’m not afraid to go out and possibly see people (Covid keeps me in most of the time and looking in the mirror is not a scary experience!). Tracy does a fantastic job EVERY time I visit her. She is a terrific stylist, a kind and focused person. Even tho’ I see her infrequently, I consider a friend and look forward to catching up!Service: HairstylingI had a cut from Tracy October 2, 2020. Soon after, I left the North for warmer climes. I see this place reset their Facebook page to get rid of all the negative reviews. I went here for a hair and make up trial for my wedding and thank God I did the trial instead of just booking! Ive never been treated so poorly at a place of business before. When I tried to explain what I was looking for they told me that they were the professionals and knew what they were doing o_O….. . I wanted a light whimsical look and I got black rimmed eyes + dark lipstick from the make up stylist at La Dolce Vita. When I expressed this this wasn’t at all what I had wanted and ask if they’d try again I was told that I’d have to pay for another trial. I was almost in tear with how bad I looked + their snooty behavior toward me. The lady that did my hair (I requested a braided crown in the front and curls in the back) kept exclaiming how thin my hair was and the style I wanted was impossible.

I used Dolce Vita’s services on my Wedding day. Every consultation I had with them I was made to wait 10-15 minutes without even being acknowledged. On my wedding day I was excited to go to the Salon and have a fun time with my Bridal party. We were treated horribly. I felt that we were an inconvenience to them. My stylist was very unfriendly and informed me that she was leaving in an hour for her son’s bday party, despite the fact that she was doing multiple girls’ hair in my party. My Mother was there to just spend the day with me and was only getting her nails done. The woman performing this service told my mother she would just have to wait because her regulars were more important, Despite the fact that I made my appointment for services 5 months in advance. The last straw was when my 13 year old wanted a simple waterfall braid and was told, “maybe you should just do it yourself.” I was heartbroken to have my big day start this way. Every bride wants to feel special and I felt far from that. I know that the residents of Petoskey love this salon, but I wonder if they knew how La Dolce Vita treats the people that visit their beautiful city. I would not suggest this place to any Bride, any person, ever.

This salon has always been there for me and their employees are very helpful. I was recently in a hurry so I went to a walk-in salon where they destroyed my hair! It a was too short, uneven and just all around horrible! I called La Dolce Vita in tears for help and Dori was able to get me in right away. I walked out with my hair still too short but a beautiful style and shape, Dori saved my hair and my self esteem as well as my appearance which is important in my job. I have always had my nails done there and consistently get compliments due to the professionalism and artistry of Michelle. She has also saved my day more than once with a quick repair or fitting me in for a manicure even when she has a full schedule by skipping lunch to help me out. I have always been happy with my treatment at this salon and will be going there for years to come!!

My bridal party and I went here for my wedding. Absolutely amazing job! They are the perfect place for anyone to go if they are getting married. Micheal did our nails, Dana did my hair, and Rachel does AMAZING makeup.

If I could give them 0/5, I would. I recently went to get highlights done at La Dolce Vitae Salon in Petoskey, Michigan. I called the day before TWICE to confirm the price. The first time, I was told that it would cost $100 for highlights. The second time, the salon told me that the price for highlights was anywhere from $60-$90. I received a $50 gift certificate to this salon and decided that it would be nice to treat myself. I went in and the receptionist was cold. I waited for my hair stylist to greet me, and when she introduced herself I showed her the color that I wanted (highlights that were focused on the bottom of my hair). She began doing the highlights and I could tell that she was rushing along. When she went to rinse my hair she stated, “Normally, this comes with a long awesome scalp massage, but I don’t have time. And normally I would curl your hair when I’m done, but I wont have time for that either.” When she finished blow-drying my hair I noticed that my hair had an orange clumps throughout my hair. The hair stylist blamed the orange color on my water at home and said I needed to do a Malibu treatment at home. I even asked her if it looked bad. We walked up to the counter and La Dolce Vita said I owed them $150! I was taken aback and shocked . . . but I’m not the kind of person that enjoys confrontation so I nervously paid the salon. I also left a tip out of politeness. When I got home I noticed significantly more orange was showing up all over my hair than what showed in the salon. I called the stylist, and she said to do the treatment that she recommended. I even asked her again how much the highlights were and she said $100—after the salon had me pay $150. When I told her she charged me $150, she started back tracking and said that $150 was the true price for highlights. That night I spent 2 hours doing treatment after treatment and even re-did the highlights BY MYSELF to get rid of the orange color. I thought about it, and realized that this just was not right. So, I decided that the best course of action was to call the manager of La Vita Dolce to discuss my concerns. I have never been more disrespected in my life by anyone. I was polite and inquired about being overcharged and how my hair turned out orange. As a result, the manager told me, “I’m not refunding anything,” that I needed “to go wait tables” and that she “gets paid $100 an hour and is wasting her time with me.” She called me a “drama queen” and ended the phone call by hanging up on me and saying “good luck sissy-poo.” I will NEVER in a million years return to this salon and recommend everyone else do the same.

Love this Salon!!!! After having the same stylist for 20+ years in Chicago and relocating Up North I was nervous! I like fashion forward styles and new shapes and different cuts constantly. I am very impressed and know how am all in for he future! Frankly I found a fresh perspective and love the collaboration—- something my last stylist stopped doing! Thank you!

I have been going to La Dolce Vita Salon since I moved up north over 6 years ago and would never go anywhere else. Every stylist, aesthetician and nail professional at La Dolce Vita are fabulous. Very professional and educated in their field. I would recommend this salon to anyone looking for a professional salon. Great atmosphere and very friendly people who care about you and want to do their best for you!

This past weekend, my bridal party and I went to la dolce vita salon for our updos, makeup, and blow dry/style. Everyone in my party was pleased with their hair as well as their makeup. Krista did my bridal hair and makeup and she did an OUTSTANDING job. I received so many compliments on my hair because it was so well done and so unique. My makeup even stayed until the next day! My words of wisdom to those that aren’t familiar with this salon is to let them be creative with your hair and makeup. That is what they are good at! I had an excellent experience and I couldn’t have asked for a better hair and makeup experience. I would highly recommend!
