I went in, and it was completely empty, so I was seated right away with a man. I immediately noticed that he was moving at a pretty slow pace, like he was inexperienced. I was getting dip powder in a solid color done, very simple. He did have to put 8 tips on for me, as I had some broken nails. I noticed that he was not making sure that the corners/sides were glued well, and I even mentioned this. He waved me off and said he’d file it later. Filing doesn’t make it stick better, so we will see how these hold up. Also, he didn’t size some of them right, so I was noticing some overhang and had to keep asking him to file more away. Anyway, he was again very slow with the dip, and didn’t tap my fingers off well (if at all sometimes) to get the excess off. After all layers of dip powder, he started filing the shape. I literally showed him one of my nails that already had the shape that I wanted (round/squoval), and he did not follow this direction; he kept squaring them off. Additionally, he had made my nails so thick with the dip and didn’t file it down well enough, so it looked like wads of gum just stuck to my nails. The edges were all blobby and it just looked ridiculous because near my cuticle they were my normal nail width and then they just ballooned out at the ends, like an upside down teardrop shape. I ended up having three other ladies in there come work on my nails too to get them thinned out and looking halfway decent. He finally put the top coat on and somehow even messed that up… after my top coat, another woman came over and noticed I was unhappy and started filing them more to fix the shape. I was very appreciative of everyone helping, but also majorly inconvenienced that it took 1 hour and 45 minutes just to get your basic dip powder done, no manicure, and I didn’t have anything on my nails that they had to take off first.
