I wish I could give it a zero. The owner is very unprofessional and does not adhere to the appointment times. The first time I booked an appointment, she did not tell the stylist that I would be there at that particular time. I ended up getting my hair done very late in the day with that stylist. The second appointment, she made with me at 9 o’clock,. She texted me at 830 to see if I could come at 930. I agreed to meet her at 9:30 in Smithfield and I live in Wilson. I waited in her shop for over 30 minutes for her to show and she did not. I called her twice, and she did not answer the phone. She called me back after almost an hour after my appointment time stating that she was ready for me. I told her it was a no go, and that she was very unprofessional and rude to me on the phone when I told her I no longer want her to do my hair. She hung up angrily. I do not recommend her to anyone, but her other stylists seem to be there with a clients doing hair as they should be.

Yes…I am very, very picky and I often have my hair braided during the summer. I decided to try Kumba and…….I am VERY pleased with my hair. I got boxed braids and I will definitely return again. I am wearing a ponytail but I can also wear them down. Very professional and it didn’t take long.

Get to my appointment, didn’t have the hair I wanted then my style wasn’t even what I wanted. This is by far the worst experience I’ve had getting my hair braided . This is the second I’ve been to this shop and left unsatisfied, the first time I didn’t like my hair kumba gave me some of my money back but the second time she was very unprofessional as far as not answering my calls or returning messages and when she did I sent her pics of the hairstyle I asked for and pics of my hair that one of her staff performed (which was very different and disappointing) for $120 I should’ve loved my cornrows. Can’t say I would recommend this place, tho the staff is very friendly, all they had to say was they couldn’t do the style!

My first visit was great both ladies worked on my head and was done in a fashionable time. My next visit will be there tomorrow and I’m excited they made sure I got the best service. A friend of mine went to Bineta and stated after a day her braids fell out and I got the same braids at Kumbas and my braids lasted. I’ll recommend anyone to go to Kumba!!!!!!!!!

I was very disappointed. They kept using little pieces of hair my after I asked them not to because it was coming out with my braids when I put my hair up. When I got there to get my hair redone they didn’t inform me that they didn’t have the wet n wavy, so they put the straight microbraids hair in hair instead. The roller set they did on the straight hair lasted 2 days. Now it’s straight again. N I don’t like the fact that they don’t communicate with you about your hair but to each other in their language. That’s rude. I won’t be coming back.

I just got my hair done almost a week ago in the Wilson location and my hair is already coming out I would not recommending anyone to go to this location . First of all one of the ladies paid more attention to her phone than the customer(me) in her chair and the second lady doesn’t know how to do hair because the back of my hair is jacked up I wanted Marley Twists and all I have in the back is big loose twists. So how they did it was they put the lady who knew how to do hair in the front of head so it will look good but the bad one at the back of head. The back of my head looks like I have had this in for months but it’s only been almost a week. So yeah I most definitely will not go here ever again!

Went in 2 weeks ago which took me an hour and 15 minutes to get there to get medium micros. I must say that I was truly impressed with not only the stylists but how quickly my hair was done. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. If you want to be the next walking billboard. Go to Kumba!!! I will definitely take that drive.
