This is a real gem of a salon. Hita who runs the business has a renowned international reputation as a stylist and colorist. I have been going here for years for cuts, color and many other services because everyone who works here has been trained to very high standards, and takes great trouble with all of their clients. They wouldn’t have a full roster of clients that keep coming back again and again if they weren’t good. There are also free little extras that they throw in too, like scalp massages, (before the pandemic there were free hand massages and make up touch ups). This is a sweet, family run business that goes to the furthest degree possible to keep their customers happy. I’ve seen myself how happy everyone is when they leave this place.

I was appalled at my experience at this salon this afternoon. I have dirty wavy blonde hair and I have been getting partial highlights and hair trims my entire life, it’s a pretty simple and fast experience.I wanted to try a new salon so I came here. Upon arrival, the hair “stylist” pulls out those little hair pieces to put against my hair to try to match my color, this was already bad news and showed how inexperienced she was. She then proceeded to not only draw a diagram to try to explain how complicated my hair was but also told me that my hair was a complete disaster. She then told me that I would need to reschedule for another day with her to color correct my hair and it would cost me $1,000 since she’s $200 an hour. By this time, I was already sitting here for a full hour. I told her no thank you but she had suggested that I talk to a hair stylist that was more reasonable in the salon. I then had asked how much a quick toner and hair trim would be with someone else and I was told that it would be $400. The most I’ve ever paid for a very nice experience for full highlights, hair trim and treatment at an actual luxury salon in Beverly Hills was $250 max. My time was wasted and I would highly advice never to come to this salon unless you you want to be sold into the trap of being ripped off. Can you imagine how my hair could have turned out?

I waited 3 weeks due to scheduling conflicts at this salon to come in for partial highlights. Continuous cancelations because Hita had to reschedule. No problem, but then I came in for my appointment for a simple partial highlight and was quoted $440!!! The last time I was here when I got my haircut I was told it was $285 including a haircut. The highlights were supposed to be with Tabitha who quoted me the $285, however, when Hita did the consultation, she upped the price to $440. As I was leaving I told Hita, that is outrageous for a simple partial highlight. I think she was even surprised when she heard out loud what she quoted me. The saddest part is that I needed to get my hair done right before Thanksgiving and holiday pictures for this weekend and I took time off work to do this which now is going to be impossible to find an appointment 2 days before Thanksgiving and our family holiday photos. Not sure if they did because they knew all this but regardless, just devastating. Just DO NOT COME HERE!!! Read the other reviews. I wish I wouldn’t have given benefit of doubt.

What an absolute treasure . Kriza Aveda Salon, and specifically Hita were a god send. I was recommended by a friend prior to a TedX event and she did some amazing work with my thin, frizzy, and unruly hair. Don’t get me wrong my prior beauticians were ok but Hita is leaps and bounds over them with her knowledge and the amazing Aveda products. What a pleasure it is to visit her and the excellent staff and walk out feeling amazing .

The people were great. The atmosphere fine. And the free hand massage and make up touch up were nice. HOWEVER, that is not the reason I went to a hair salon today. You see this is the first time in 4 years I had a day without kids and without my man. I wanted to spoil myself. My Grey’s were showing, I did not have a dye job (done myself 8months ago and by a professional even longer) in a long time due to financial reason. FINALLY I got a chance to go. My requests were (photos attached) cover the grey roots with my natural color and then do purple on my lower half. I already had blonde on the lower half so I know it was going to be an easy trip. I’m not sure where it went wrong…
