My first time coming to Kool Kidz could have been better. Both my daughter and I got our hair done 2 days ago by 2 different stylists. I wish I had listened to my sister and got my hair done by stylist Chantel, who my sister highly recommended. I was very pleased with how she cornrowed my daughter’s hair. She was able to design my daughter’s hair exact to the picture that I provided. But the stylist Marri, who did my hair was an ammature. She did not style my hair exact to the picture that I provided but I was satisfied with the quality of my soft locs. They were neat but the parts were big and the locs were smaller than I anticipated. Also, her prices were confusing and misleading. She was not direct with the total fee for the style that I wanted including hair or without hair provided by her. She explained to me after having finished my hair that she charges extra for full locs , when the picture I showed her clearly displayed a lady with a full head of locs with small parts. I paid for my hair which Marri skimped me on what was left over once she finished my hair. Not to mention she doesn’t know how to cut hair and I explained to her that I wanted my sides trimmed and I sent her a picture of the length of my natural hair before my appointment. I will never get my hair done at this shop again unless I go to the stylist that my sister recommended.

I was so hesitant of contacting this business for my daughters hair because of some of the comments however once I did visit it was the exact opposite. The young lady and her daughter welcomed me and my daughter with open arms. She was nothing but generous towards us she took her time with my two year old daughter helped her to be calm on her first time in a salon and got her really into it she even helped me by teaching me how to take care of my daughters hair . I was so hesitant of contacting this business for my daughters hair because of some of the comments however once I did visit it was the exact opposite. The ABSOLUTE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE & PROFESSIONALISM! I made a appt with the owner to do my 3yr old hair, it was her first time ever getting her hair professionally done & i stated this from the very beginning to the owner. It took a week just to book a appt cause the owner wasn’t ready to book when i first called, called back & texted for almost a week with no response & was finally able to get a appt. Get to my appt, the owner has a client so she has her NEW ADULT STYLIST, do half of my daughter hair! Once she finished her first client she comes & finishes my daughter hair! So 2 stylist did a 3yr old hair instead of 1! Now i take my daughters hair out & she has 2 balled spot! I call the owner & she tells me to send a pic of the bald spots! I do that & get no response from the owner after over 72 hrs I text the owner about my issues, she finally decides ito respond at 1am n the morning after I threatened to blast her business over social media with a lame excuse & telling me her availability is now 5/23-5/26 & its 5/20

I took my daughter here back in February. On the website, i didn’t specify that I bring in the hair. It’s a salon, you would think they have hair there. The stylist, Chanice, was very sweet. Very professional and she went to get the hair for me. My daughter’s hair looked great and lasted a long time. The mani/pedis was okay. They have to get the pedicure chairs but they tried. I set up her appointment recently and a person by the name of Marri send me a text saying she’s canceling my appointment. This is very unprofessional and I’m glad she did because I see in a few reviews she can’t do hair anyways. I will take my business elsewhere and support other black shops in the area.

Unfortunately, I will not do business at Kool Kidz salon. We called on Tuesday to find out if they had any availability for my two daughters’ mani and pedi. We were scheduled for an appt at 11am the next day. We arrived at the salon and the place was closed. I called, then I was told that the nail tech told the receptionist that she wasn’t going to show up because we didn’t pay a deposit. We weren’t instructed to pay a deposit when we called the day before. Then, the receptionist said that the nail tech was on the bus to come in. We decided to leave because we didn’t want to wait. We wouldn’t have an issue to pay the deposit if this was communicated to us. But for us to be told that the nail tech canceled on us for not paying the deposit lacks professionalism.

My daughter has been coming to Kool Kidz Salon &Spa for six months now. I highly recommend the stylist Asia. She is worth every penny. Asia does my daughter hair every three weeks and her hairstyles really last. My daughter always has an awesome experience when she goes to get her done. I am super happy with the salon, because the stylists are very professional, the salon is always clean, and they have a cute area where they do manicure and pedicure for children. The main thing I love about the shop is that the stylists wash, deep condition, blow dry and style the children hair; unlike some of these other kids stylists/shops in the DMV that tell the parents to bring their child/ren to their hair appointment with their hair already washed and blowed completely.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. In the beginning when trying to make an appointment no one ever answered the phone. So I decided to go to the salon. At that point I was able to make an appointment with Marri. She was very helpful and pleasant. However, the day of my appointment for my daughter the appointment time went from 5pm to 6pm to NOT HAPPENING! I was so disappointed because this was for my daughter’s 4th birthday. Not to mention my daughter was so disappointed and upset because she was really looking forward to it. Luckily I was able to find another location/stylist that was able to do her hair the morning of her party.

Been bringing my kids to this salon since April 2019. I found Asia on Instagram. She does an amazing job on my kids hair. I love her work it’s so neat and she is fast. I travel from Glen Burnie every 2 weeks just so she can do my kids hair. My son gives her pure hell when he gets cornrows but she remains patient and does an excellent job. I love the creative styles she gives my daughter.

They are so unprofessional in the salon. First, lady I scheduled the appointment with was an hour late. Second, she lie and the owner/mangered in the first chair told us the stylist was here. When we arrived she was somewhere far away trying to get an Uber to the or any ride to the shop. Third, the owner/manager in the first chair spent the entire time on the phone and not one time did she attempt to call the stylist or rush her to get here. I will never bring my daughter to this poorly ran business again! It’s the day before school starts and they do not have common sense to have all stylist in the shop for moments like this. PISS POOR
