Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, QualityWow, such a phenomenal, transformative experience. I am beyond impressed with my experience with Melissa at Kinship Salon. She took me from my natural dishwater brown to a vibrant, golden blonde balayage that far exceeded my hopes. (See pics below) Here’s the story:Before we started, Melissa and I had a long and detailed conversation where she laid out different paths we could take to get my desired result. She made sure to quote me exact prices for each step, and explained how the different options were likely to turn out. She was good about managing my expectations, and really wanted to not over-sell me on what I might end up with (thankfully we got it exactly where I wanted). Her manner is calm and focused, and she took all the time I needed t understand what we were talking about.I started with a lighter, muddy natural brown hair color with about 6 inches of faded brown box dye on the ends. Melissa applied a lightener to remove the remnants of the box dye then did an intense, calculated balayage. She then used two different shades of toner to address the needs of both the lightened new growth and the lightened dyed sections. I walked out with a blonde that shimmered and looked expensive and natural. I was thrilled. She also suggested a protectant styling cream that I’ve been very satisfied with.The environment was safety-forward. Melissa and her assistant were fully masked up during the entire process, and sanitized every surface after it was touched. The process was long, but she directed me to take breaks to get fresh air. It felt like my comfort was her priority during the whole experience.I was floored when I saw the result. I tipped 30% and walked out feeling like the best version of myself I’d ever seen. I live out of state, but the experience I had with Melissa will justify making her, and Kinship, my main hair guru from now on.Thank you Melissa for making my blonde dreams come true :)Wow, such a phenomenal, transformative experience. Positive: Cleanliness, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI have been to the salon since it opened. They are always happy when you get there and really evaluate what would be best for your hair. The cost isn’t anymore than other salons that aren’t as professional. I love when they take my life style into consideration for my hair style! Marissa does an amazing job on my hair.

Melissa was very dedicated and professional, she did a consultation with me over hair length, color tones/ highlights, and gave me my time to think, decide and even offered to redo the colors when I thought I picked a darker tone than what I wanted. I was hesitant about visiting just any salon both due to covid and because I have natural curls, so many people dont know how to cut or style naturally curly hair. Melissa was very dedicated and professional, she did a consultation with me over hair length, color tones/ highlights, and gave me my time to think, decide and even offered to redo the colors when I thought I picked a darker tone than what I wanted. I had a great experience and will def go back again!
