Up until the last time, I liked this place quite a bit. When I came in for my last haircut, it was my usual stylist whom I like. Usually, there is a blow dry or some styling with hair product before I leave. This time I was sent out with a wet head and no styling. I paid the same amount as always, so I am not sure why it was different this time, but I will say that I can’t recall ever leaving a salon with a wet head. It struck me as very unprofessional.

I am new to Richmond and I called the day of to see their availability. They were very friendly able to fit me in at the last minute. My stylist was Cathy and she was very friendly and easy to consult with! I wanted to change up my hair without doing anything too drastic and she was able to adjust to my ideas about layers and angles even after blowing out my hair. I got a regular cut with partial highlights and the price was extremely reasonable compared to a lot of salons I’ve been to. The products and techniques they used have made my hair and scalp feel so refreshed! I can’t stop touching or looking at my hair!

This salon has been in business for many years, and I think the owner and the staff are extremely complacent. The customer service and the atmosphere here are atrocious. When I came in, three women were busy at the front desk, and not one of them even acknowledged me. I stood there for a while and finally had to ask for attention, and it was like “what? do you want something?” Then I had to wait for Charles for a very long time and watch him shmooze a client even though he was done with her hair. I don’t think anyone told him his next appointment has arrived. Meanwhile, the atmosphere was like that of a family reunion or a barbershop – the women were literally passing around a baby right in the middle of the reception area. It was so much of a “family”, that I kind of felt like I was interrupting their party. There were a lot of people just loitering around.

It’s been my first time to Karina’s and I am truly happy with my experience from walking through their door. I took a few photo’s to show Toni the Ombre I was looking for. I walked IN the door with brassy hair, and a lot of regrowth. I walked out with supermodel (Gisele Bundchen) hair. My new hair color is also beautiful and shiny. My husband loves it. 🙂
