We came on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a lovely salon! Kara’s is behind Schoop’s restaurant, Google maps has it near the old A&W building. There was ample parking – for a Saturday. The salon felt good upon entering; clean & fresh. Music was not too loud, comfortable atmosphere. The receptionist gave a warm welcome. Our stylist was Amanda, she listened and helped with concerns and recommended products for best hair care. We love and appreciate her patience and kindness and helpfulness. My daughter’s hair turned out gorgeous and beautiful. Thank you ☺️

Nice salon, nice people. However if they’re not comfortable or knowledgeable enough to preform a service I rather they tell me than waste my time and make me feel like poop after my visit. Just say this hair stylist isn’t comfortable or isn’t experienced with curly hair.

Critical: ProfessionalismMy friend called about a week ago and made an appointment and had everything set up with a stylist…but then she received a call back from the salon saying they needed to take a payment over the phone right away. WHAT? I have never heard of this before and neither had my friend. (She ended up calling them back to cancel, obvi.) I mean, who does that?! Is that how salons operate in Hobart? Do people not pay their stylists in Hobart? What an awful way to run a business. Neither she nor I will be spending our money there; she was just trying to get us both to try a new place since she moved back into the area. My friend called about a week ago and made an appointment and had everything set up with a stylist…but then she received a call back from the salon saying they needed to take a payment over the phone right away. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueVery Satisfied, made a call last minute, to bring 3 daughters ages 4-11. The girl answering the phone was professional and informative, was able squeeze us in in an otherwise booked Friday afternoon. Ashley and Paige were the two stylists who cut their hair. Very Satisfied, made a call last minute, to bring 3 daughters ages 4-11. The girl answering the phone was professional and informative, was able squeeze us in in an otherwise booked Friday afternoon. Ashley and Paige were the two stylists who cut their hair. Turned out exactly as the pictures submitted. Very reasonably priced, Will definitely be back.

I have been going to Kara’s now for a couple years and I have never had a bad hair cut or perm. She always asks how I want it done and she does it just like I asked. My perms there are great. I just wish I had gone to Kara’s long before I did. The way she is to her staff is amazing too. A very kind lady. I would highly recommend Kara’s.

I have been going to Kara’s since the first year she opened over 25 years ago. Her staff is phenomenally friendly, and how cool is it that her beautiful mother is a receptionist?!? You are greeted with a smile and either coffee, tea, or bottled water. The staff are always learning new techniques and staying on trend, while still keeping the older generation happy. As for prices, it is a salon, so you will pay salon prices. But, they are fair prices. Nothing extreme. I chose Kara to cut my hair for all these years because she makes the hairstyle fit my face. You don’t find talent like that anywhere but Kara’s Hair Studio in Hobart. Thanks Kara!!!
