I always went to this salon and I felt their services were slacking so I stopped going. 1 year later I return, only to be reminded why I stopped going. I asked for something SIMILAR, and I chose the color, but so off on the design. I rather they tell me they can’t do something close to it than so their own thing. I paid for extra foot massage, and it still seemed rushed. I feel if you’re not getting “gel” they won’t pay attention. My toes look like my 2nd grader painted, but my gel nails look on point, with a kids design. Before- she did the design- I asked if she knows what I like and if she needs to look at the picture? She said, “yes” and did something totally different. I now remember why I stopped going, and realize it’s not gonna change. I’ll just make the trip somewhere else that will deliver what I pay.

I brought my mom to Kailua Happy Nails today so we could have a mother/daughter mani-pedi date. When I booked the appointment it was for delux mani pedis for the two of us. From the moment we walked in, there was pressure to upgrade, and never with a mention of cost. The original quoted cost was $52 each. The final bill was $192 – they’d talked my mom into every up-charge (gel polish with iridescent rainbow effects???) and there wasn’t really any graceful way to say no. Most of the time she couldn’t really understand what they were asking her – they were talking too quickly and not answering her questions. Me, I’m not much of a fingernail polish gal, so I said that I’d prefer to skip the polish on my mani. The technician said, oh, just buff then? I said OK. Another $15 up-charge. Oh, and the foot, leg, and hand massages were minimal and brief. I would definitely not recommend this salon to friends.

My nails are perfect! Zoe did my nails and pedicure. She’s really good. I like my nails with a natural curve and she got them perfect for me! And the man (maybe the owner) made sure I was satisfied and I liked my service. Great place. I will go back!

worst manicure probably ever. Got a powder dip gel manicure — first was so thin it chipped all up within 24 hours. Went back and showed them and she did it so thick it was like globs on each nail with no shape!

Went in for a pedicure. Was very happy with the pedicure and would give that four stars. However, the staff was very pushy trying to get me to upgrade to a higher level of pedicure or to gel polish. They didn’t ask just one or two times but probably more than five. So two stars for the pushiness. It was awkward and made me uncomfortable and really lessened what would have been a really good pedicure oyherwise.

Great location. Clean. Nail tech cut my nails entirely too short and rounded them oddly when I like my nails straight like they were when I went in. She would have known that had she asked anything other than what color I wanted. I got a deluxe pedi, but my feet are dry and scratchy, and my nails are ugly and too short. Polish job (gel) is ok for now, but I wonder how long it will last. Don’t try to relax if you go…pay close attention to what they are doing to your feet!! Glad I had change for a tip because they only take cash tips. Overall, a disappointing experience for what should have been a rare treat for myself.
