I was given a terrible long layered haircut at a different salon so I came in hoping they could fix it but expecting a lot more of my hair to get chopped off. They had Annalisa available, and she did amazing. She saved my hair and I was able to keep my length!! I love my haircut because of her. If you have the chance I highly recommend you see her for any haircut, she knows her stuff!! I will be coming back in the future to see her!!

Today’s my birthday. My husband is in the military and away at drill weekend and my adult kids are away. I thought I’d spend the day at the salon getting my hair done. The stylist called me this morning and canceled (“not coming in today”). I’m leaving on a trip on Thursday and I really needed the cut and color. She said no other stylist at K. Charles has appointments between now and then. I would hope the stylist or any other stylist there would be willing to work me in before Thursday due to their last minute cancellation. But no. They do not value customers.

I had a wonderful experience with K Charles in Spring Branch. Everyone was professional and so sweet. It has all of the amenities expected from an Aveda salon. I absolutely adore Shelly! First she really took the time to listen to what I was wanting, she took notes on my ideas and pinterest photos. I had long, bleach damaged hair, and she worked out a plan to still give me some highlights while maintaining the health and integrity of my hair. She is very knowledgeable and talented, and also so nice. I will definitely be a returning customer. I love my hair now!

Critical: QualityIt seems no one at the salon knows how to cut short hair. The first time I was there after the COVID restrictions were lifted, the stylist didn’t cut enough off my hair and it was as unruly in a couple of weeks as it was before the haircut. I made another appointment and specially asked for someone who knew how to cut short hair. I even took 10 pictures with me. The haircut I left with is nothing like any of the pictures I showed the stylist. I went home and cried. My hair is shorter than some guys. Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueThe stylist had three clients at the same time. To say she was distracted is an understatement. I’m not tender headed, however I have never had anyone rip at my wet hair with a round brush before. It hurt. And she didn’t seem to care.I also got an eyebrow wax. Co workers knocked on the door incessantly and she continued to be incredibly distracted. About four days after the appointment the scabs healed on my eyelids. However the holes in my hair are still there…Don’t waste your time. Don’t sacrifice your hair. K. Charles Salon in Bulverde is a wonderful, full service salon. I have been a loyal, regular customer for 5-6 years, and visit them at least once month for various services. The staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nancy Perry does my cut and color and she is truly a Master of her craft! I appreciate the fact that this is a non-gratuity salon, and also appreciate that I can pop in with-out an appointment and any one of the stylists will provide me with a complimentary bang-trim. I would never consider going anywhere else.

I was turned away from my appointment yesterday because as a nurse practitioner I come into contact with COVID + patients. This company has much to learn about what constitutes an exposure and what does not. If I’m healthy and have a normal temperature I should be treated like all other non-medical clients. I should’ve been provided the services I was looking forward to, my appointment was made 1 month ago. I also should’ve received a call back, as Holly said “she would get back to me after she spoke to the owner.” Very disappointed. I wonder if they would also turn away police officers and other first responders? They have lost great customers. Totally disappointed in this facility. My senior citizen mother went in for highlights and cut/blow out assuming it was $185. When getting to the counter it was $345. When I called the shop manager , Holly argued with me about the services being explained to her at the last appointment. Never was she given a paper stating what she could expect at this visit. I was informed when they have a color analysis those forms are property of KCharles. They do not give a customer a copy. How do we know that items were not added today that were not on there prior to leaving at last visit. I would not recommend this shop to anyone unless you have deep pockets. I will be contacting corporate office about the professionalism about the staff. I had to put one star to be able to leave a review but I would give minus 4 stars.

The staff are so friendly and fun. I really enjoyed the familial work culture they had going on. Unfortunately, I was horribly disappointed with the end results of my hair. I was getting a rooty blonde touch up for my platinum locks ($213+ btw) and my stylist missed a large chunk at the back of my head, right at the crown. It is very noticeable and I can’t hide it regardless of which way I place my part. The tone was applied very badly and looks splotchy right up front around my face. They also made a large knot in my hair while rinsing the tone out. I had to pick the giant clump of broken hair out myself because they were just trying to rip the knot out with a brush! On top of all of that, the pricing was astronomical. They wanted over $300 to do a root touch up and my regular (top rated) salon in San Antonio was a little over $400 for a full length treatment. Overall, I had high hopes and optimism for this place, but I would not suggest anyone to get their color done here. Wait for your usual salon and pick a new stylist from an establishment you know. My hair is ruined and I will have to double my expenses for being impatient. Lesson learned here, but you don’t have to learn the hard way like me.

First of all, I’m as picky as they come to choosing a hairstylist and I’ll go months with out having a hair cut if I can’t find one. Well I hit the jackpot when I stumbled upon K Charles & Co in Bulverde!! Not only did I find a great Hairstylist but I also had my hair colored for the first time EVER! Extremely pleased with Christina and the team at K Charles. Be sure to plan well in advance, Christina books up quick! But is well worth the wait. Thank you to everyone that works there, always a pleasant experience.
