I went into this salon one day after just moving to the neighborhood being that they advertise “$ 25 BLOWOUT “ I decided to give it a try . As I walked in a young lady towards the back asked how she can help me I said I’d like the $25 blow out , she took a look at my hair and said “ we don’t do your type of hair , maybe if it was thinner “ I was so shocked I said “ huh “ BTW I’m African American with thicker curly hair . If she took the time to at least feel the hair she would notice that it’s soft and all that needed to be done was to USE A BRUSH AND PRODUCT then treat it as she would any OTHER client that walked through the doors . She went on to say “ yea I don’t wanna waste your money “ she didn’t even sound sorry that she isn’t qualified and experienced on different hair types . She sound as if she wanted to turn me down and get on with what she’s doing . I don’t understand how hairdressers only limit themselves on one type of hair . Port Washington isn’t made up of thinner hair types . This place needs to be more DIVERSE because that is ridiculous and a disgrace . Or advertise that’s your talents are limited .

I had my hair cut her by a woman named Bella. She butchered my hair and it was obvious that she had no idea how to cut hair. I asked if she had a license and did not answer or show me her license. The other stylists had ones hanging on the wall. I should of gotten up from the chair but I let her finish unfortunately. I asked the other woman to come over and she looked at my hair and played down how uneven it was , she fixed it as well as possible. It was unbelievable and threatened if I didn’t pay they would call the cops. I later called the Russian male owner and explained the story and he said ‘ it’s okay , it doesn’t matter’ – they obviously DO NOT CARE.
