This was easily one of the best haircuts of my life–both in terms of experience and result–and at a basic haircut price. My style is pretty simple/boring but still got a lot of compliments the next day. John was fast yet focused and meticulous. I don’t think anybody has ever cut my hair with such attention to detail. First time going and it was a great experience. He was fast and knew what I was asking for in terms of length left on the sides and top. He vacuumed the hair on top after cutting to prevent that usual neck itch after the haircut. Didn’t talk at all which is relaxing because I’m there to get my hair cut and not socialize, but if he did talk to strike up a conversation, I wouldn’t mind either.

Great haircut! I’m not too particular about what I want but John was quick & efficient – but also took the time to make sure everything was in tip-top shape… even scissoring some stray individual hairs before he was done. I called the day before to schedule an appointment and it was easy to get in. I had been going to a much more expensive barber before but the price & quality here can’t be beat. I’ll be back again for sure.

My go-to since moving to N Seattle. John does a good job and is frequently available for same-day appointments (highly recommend calling ahead vs walking in so you don’t waste a trip). I prefer this 100x over big-name chain shops.

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI’ve been a customer of John for over 2 years now. He is the best barber I’ve ever had, and I’m picky AF. He charges far too little for his services.I’m an awkward person. I don’t like talking to my barber, creating terrible small talk about “how my day was” or “if I have any plans for the weekend”. My answers are usually “eh” and “crying” and no one really wants to hear that. Fortunately, John just asks “How do you want it”, and then we’re both silent and peaceful throughout the entire transaction. He makes me feel warm and safe.Couple of things to keep in mind:- He does basic cuts well, and does not do fancy things like long hair. If you’re looking for a sick fade with a Nike swoosh in the side, he’s probably not for you.- He has a sign that says “cash preferred” but also has a card machine. Do this amazing man a favor and bring cash.- You should call ahead of time for an appointment, just for his sake. He writes all of the times for appointments down on a white board, but won’t actually write down your name, so just make sure to show up.- Be nice to John.
